Re: Since it's slow: GTKY random question!

  • 1- My food can't be touching on my plate. I know it's weird but I don't care!

2- I have an emotional attachment to a few stuffed animals that I can't get rid of or store in the attic. Among the randoms: An elephant my brother won for me at a fair, a "baby Eeyore" DH got for me randomly when I was sick, and another stuffed Eeyore that my Mom thought was cute and brought me one day. I can't store them away!!

  • 1.  I hate onions so much I pretend to be allergic to them.  My close friends and family know this and think it's ridiculous because they claim I wouldn't even know if onions were in something I was eating... but I do.  Oh, I do.

    2.  To piggyback on your stuffed animals thing, I have a teddy bear that I slept with up until I got married last summer.  Yes, I was 27, and yes, I still slept with that stupid bear.  Now he stays in my nightstand drawer, and I will admit that when hubby's out of town, the bear *might* make an appearance....Embarrassed

  • I am generally not sentimental about objects. We have no knicknacks and just hung up some art in the condo we've lived in for 2 years. If I have to dust it, I'd rather not own it. I think this is all because I hate to clean and organize. I'd rather not own stuff if I have to organize it. I realize this will drive me bonkers with this kid because kids usually own twice as much stuff as they actually need.

  • Ditto that the food on my plate cannot be touching, and I also can only eat one thing at a time.  For instance, if I made steak, potatoes and corn; I would eat my potatoes until they are all gone, then my corn until it was all gone, and then my steak.

I hate feet, I think they are disgusting and would never touch them.  When i go to bed I have to wear socks, because if DH's bare feet were to brush against my bare feet, I would have a cow!!  However, I do love my pedicures and go once or twice a month for them :)

  • Weird things about me? I am trying to have this baby on the tiniest budget ever, simply because I know I can, and I want to prove some people wrong. I like to make everything myself, since I know I can, and like to challenge myself. I made a changing table pad today, and I had never made anything like it before. Total cost: $1.75 for cloth, plus time to make it.

Oh, and I hate onions too. LIke crazy/mad hate them.

  • I Talk to my dog... A lot. I tell him I love him and to be good every.single.day before I leave for work.
  • I used to collect everything Eeyore.. to the point that I had over 100 stuffed Eeyores at one point.  I have slowly been giving them away but I have a few that I just cannot part with.

I only own socks with designs.  Like silly ones like smiley faces, hearts, flowers or characters.  I do not like plain socks.

Ah crap if this is weird then add it to my list too! I tell my 'houla she's in charge while we're gone, and I tell our lab to behave for the whole day. LOL

  • I have OCD.
    1. I separate all my paperclips by size (large ones can't be mixed in with the small ones).
    2. Count things when I enter a room.
    3. Organize my husband's closet by clothing type, then color (long sleeve shirts in one section, then all long sleeve white shirts together, followed by groupings of other colors) (All short sleeve t-shirts in one section, grouped by sequential colors of the rainbow).

I'm an accountant, so I think my quirks fit me well.

  • Oh, the Eeyore love...  I'm feelin' it!!  I still have a few.

I just confessed this to DH for the first time 2 days ago:

I have to fight the temptation to buy bedding when I shop.  I feel compelled to buy bed linens all.the.time.

I'm the opposite, I love onions! I eat them raw by the slice. Smile

Another weird thing about me would be that the trunk of my car is always full of random crap. Clothing, bikinis, beach stuff, shoes, coats, and possibly a million dollars lol I wouldn't know because its so full. Everything else in my life is clean and organized except the trunk of my car.

I think it started when I would need a change of clothing for the gym or impromptu days to the beach but I never think to clean it out.

  • My number one is that I can't handle when doors/cabinets/drawers are left open. I'll wake from a deep sleep if the closet or bedroom door is left open even a little bit.

I also can't handle air being blown on me while I sleep. Whether it be a fan or someone breathing... I freak out.

My husband also informed me that when I get irritated only my right eyebrow raises.

I used to collect teddy bears but only the Ty kind. Not just the beanie babies but the larger bears too. I've given my collection to my daughter.

My mom is the EXACT same way. I lived with her until I was 21 and it was like clockwork. She'd leave for work, I'd hear the garage close and then I'd go get my phone. "Yes mom, you unplugged everything." lol

  • I have to shake everything before I drink it. Unless I'm getting water from the tap... then I have to kind of swirl it around in the glass (repeat 2 more times) before drinking it.

Anytime my hands get wet, I feel like they have to be washed. I don't know why. Something about wet hands (my own or being touched by them) makes me feel dirty.

  • 1. The thought of stepping on a snail or someone else stepping on a snail freaks me out.  I tiptoe through our parking lot whenever it rains.

    2. The sound of someone making a crease in a piece of paper with their finger nails makes me cringe and gives me terrible goose bumps.

    3.  Sometimes if it gets too quiet in the house and DH and I aren't in the same room we make sound effects just to acknowledge that we are still there.  Yeah, we're BOTH weird.

However, I can kiss my husband quite easily, but if he were to, for example, lick my face- I'd probably hit him and immediately rush to wash myself.

    Ick!

I tell my cat to be good when I leave the house every morning, too. And I am also terrified of the house burning down. I won't leave anything on the stove, even if it hasn't been used in days, bc I'm convinced something will spontaneously combust or something.

Baby corn creeps me out. I think of it as a corn on the cob fetus and will never eat it.

I still sleep with my baby "blankie". Yup. Sure do.

I'm SO glad I'm not the only one that talks to my cats. I feel like a weirdo a lot, but I've never really been cutesy like this about anything else in my life before I got my two cats two years ago. I tell them to have a good "cat day", or say "bye cats" every time I leave the house, and I ask them questions all. the. time. Also, everything belonging or associated with them begins with "cat"... They have "cat feet" and "cat faces", they get "cat hugs" and drink "cat water". My DH talks like he thinks I'm completely crazy, but he's just as attatched to them as I am, and I catch him doing the same things lol!

This one obviously doesn't apply at this time, but I have a technique for taking shots (as in, shots of alcohol). Inhale, shot, exhale, chaser, inhale. Weird. Yes, I was "that girl" in college :).

    Ooohh, love this question.

I don't take showers, hardly ever.  I bathe every day.  I guess if I was a mechanic or someone who got really dirty in their job I would shower, but I just never have.  I love my bathtub.

I don't know how off the wall this is, but I do get some hairy eyeballs when I tell people.

Ah, see and I never take baths because no matter how much I clean the bathtub I know someone else who lived there before me was in it. And I really hate any kind of dirt, hair, mildew etc. in the tub/shower and there's always some lurking somewhere that I don't notice until I'm sitting in the tub. Guess I'll have to get over it when I put the baby in there. haha

  • I don't like being breathed on. If H sleeps on his side and breathes on me, it bugs the hell out of me.

I hate the sound of fingernails/toenails being clipped. H needs to go downstairs and we need two TVs  blaring to cover the sound. If he tries to do it on the sly, I always hear it.

I sleep with a stuffed animal (a polar bear). I have multiple sclerosis, and it is very uncomfortable to sleep without my arm resting on something. H actually sleeps with a stuffed animal (a panda bear) too, and on Saturday nights we swap. I cuddle with the panda, and he cuddles with the polar bear.

OHMIGOD - I dry heave if I smell spit.  Early in the days of our relationship DH and I were wrestling around being silly and he licked my face to try and win.  Oh, he won alright and I ran to the bathroom gagging.  He still laughs about it 3 years later.

I used to collect Star Wars action figures. I have 175 of them...plus countless other random Star Wars items. I rarely purchase new Star Wars items anymore, but I won't get rid of the ones I have either.

I also collect movie scores/soundtracks. I have almost 100 of them. Most of them are digital copies though, and I'd really love to make hardcopies of them, just in case my computer crashes.

  • I think I have an unhealthy obsession with anything sour. I eat lemons about 5 times a week. Sometimes more. I also eat koolaid right out of the packet. i have also been known to dump koolaid into an empty cup, put one ice cube in it and suck the koolaid off of it. Warheads... oh my god do I love warheads, I don't eat the candy party, i just suck the sour stuff off.

Ditto on the feet. Absolutely disgusting. Anyone who trys to touch my feet or touches me with theirs needs to be able to run fast because I might end up slapping you. lol

I also have a huge underwear collection. I don't think i have even worn half of the underwear I own. I think i have close to 300 pairs now. Not sure though I would have to sit down and count them LMAO. There is a store at the mall that I go to that sells undies for $1. They are actually pretty nice/cute too. I'm sorry but you can not go wrong with really cute undies for only a buck.
