If you suffered from back pain when pregnant with multiples, did you see a chiropractor? Or is there a cheaper alternative? I checked with my insurance and I would have to pay 20% of a chiropractor's bill...and I know they like to see you often (once a week?), so I'm thinking that would get expensive. Is it worth it to go to the chiro? I am in awful pain sitting down on the couch, in a car, laying on my side in bed...and I still have 2 months left. It hurts soooo bad!! What did you do to relieve back pain?
Re: back pain/chiropractor
I didn't see a chiropractor while I was pg, but am seeing one now. It has helped so much. But like you said, it's expensive. I'm going twice a week for the first 6 weeks at $25 per visit. But I feel like it's helping me so much now that it's worth it.
While I was pg, and having such bad back pain, as well as pelvic separation, my OB referred me to physical therapy. They gave me some good stretches and some light exercises to strengthen my back. I only went for two sessions before being put on bed rest with no activity, but I think if I'd been able to keep up with it, it would have really helped. They even planned on getting me into a therapy pool as things progressed - even today the idea of zero gravity on my pg body still makes me sigh with relief. Maybe PT will have better coverage by your insurance?

I see a chiropractor, but saw one regularly before I was pregnant too. I think it helps, so if you can afford, I would at least give it a shot for a few weeks to see if it helps.
I also think yoga/stretching helps too. I'm sure you could get a prenatal yog DVD from the library or look around on You Tube.
I also have a recliner and heating pad that I use when my back gets bad. Its been okay lately, but was really uncomfortable there for a while.
I saw a webster certified prenatal chiropractor from 12 weeks through 36 weeks. From week 12-15 I went twice a week, thereafter only once a week.
It was $24 per session and I was able to pay for it using my FSA.
I had terrible sciatica and after just 4 adjustments the pain was gone. I also credit chiropractic for both of my babies being vertex, allowing me to deliver vaginally.
I'm lucky that my husband is a chiropractor and I think that this is one reason that I've felt great so far in my pregnancy. He's been adjusting me 2-3 times a week bc I was having some SI joint pain.
If insurance doesn't cover it (most plans have horrible chiro benefits) I'd definitely look into physical therapy....for a massage (hopefully) and stretches and exercises to relieve some of your pain.
Good luck!
