I recently read a magazine article that stated something about how chickens in the U.S. aren't injected with hormones. If this is true, what's the point of buying organic chicken? I guess there are a whole other host of issues (antibiotics, hormones in feed, cage-free, etc.) but aren't hormone injections the main concern when it comes to meat and poultry? I'm so confused about what makes something organic, natural, etc. and the benefits of each. I'm overwhelmed by the amount of info that exists online about this issue...

52 Choices For Better Health
I've been trying to figure out how to answer this but the subject is just too complex. Ditto Carlinlp- watch Food Inc or read the Omnivore's Dilemma.
There are a variety of reasons to go organic for a variety of different foods, your own health, the health of the planet, the health of the animal.
I would also recommend In Defense of Food. I'm reading it right now and it is very good. I picked it up at 1/2 price books cheap.
Food Matters (the movie) is also good but it focuses more on food and how it relates to our bodies, cancer, etc.
I have The Unhealthy Truth in my amazon cart right now too.

I saw a special by JAmie Oliver about chickens in the US and UK and there is no way we eat non cage free organic birds.
my inlaws were tearing up after it too and shaking theirs heads.
Thanks for the clarification and resource recs, ladies.
Carlinlp, thanks for the offer to borrow Food Inc. We have Netflix so I think I'll add it to our queue.
