The post about bridal shower outfit got me to wondering... What did every one wear to their own baby showers?
I have a friend who was astonished when I told her I plan to wear jeans and a nicer top. I work in the office of a warehouse so my normal work clothes (when working, not stuck on the couch) is jeans and whatever shirt I feel like putting on. Other than that, the only dressy clothes I have are the cocktail dresses I bought for our honeymoon.
Do you think jeans are too casual?

i'm not having a shower this time 'round (since it's another boy), but i wore jeans to my shower last time with a cute shirt. one, it's your shower, so you should wear what you want. and two? i've seen many a girl wear a dress or skirt to their shower and the person taking photos got several compromising shots of the mom-to-be.
have fun!
To the one I have Friday night I am wearing skinny jeans, flats and the top will depend on the weather. Most likely though a tan sleeveless blouse I bought yesterday on clearance and a purple cardigan but I'm not set on that yet.
For my other two showers though I will wear dresses. To one I'm thinking a tan and red maxi dress and the other a bright blue sundress, depending on the weather.
I wore this shirt (from motherhood maternity) with a pair of black pants that I got at JCPenney to my CA shower (This picture was actually taken at a taping of the Martha Stewart show this past week)
And, this black dress from motherhood maternity (with black leggings) at my NY shower
For my shower with DD #1 i wore a nice yellow shirt and a pair of black pants. I feel like looking back i was really sloppy looking. But it was ridiculously hot so i ended up putting my hair up in a pony tail and i was super flushed so i looked like a mess i think. I'm not having a shower this time but i am hosting one for my friend and i'm going to wear either a black dress (same as what NovNYC2006 posted in the pic's) with leggings or a denim skirt with a dressy shirt. And be smart and plan to wear my hair up.
@ NovNYC2006 Where did you get your leggings? I have the same dress and was thinking i'd wear it to a baby shower i'm hosting for my friend this weekend with leggings cause i wanted to be more comfy with running around hosting.
I have one shower this weekend where I will be wearing a knee-length dress from Target with a crochet shrug and some nude heels.
I have 2 showers in late May and plan to wear stuff that will cover my inevitable cankles. One will be jeans and cute top, the other might be a maxi-dress or maybe even jeans again.
Jeans are fine. You're the guest of honor, wear what you want.
I bought a cute new (non-maternity) dress from JCPenney today that I love. I like to dress up tho
If you want to wear jeans, rock 'em - don't worry about what other people say - it's your body so be comfy!
I'm wearing jeans and a cute top. If I had kahki capris to wear, I might. But honestly, I'd rather wear jeans and flip flops and a cute top so that I'm comfortable, don't have to worry about flashing anyone in a skirt cause I can't cross my legs, and no one can see my cankles.
But we are very much a jeans type of family.
this was me at my shower. A simple dress...cost me like $25
