A friend was but on hospital bed rest this weekend at 25 weeks because of placenta previa and blood not flowing away from the baby properly along with a couple other potential problems. They're hoping to keep her LO growing for at least a few more weeks which means lots of time in a cold, sterile, boring hospital room. So, a few of us are wanting to put together a little basket for her to make things a little more cozy - cute pj's, comfy blanket, pretty pillows, improvements to hospital food, that sort of thing. But I'm wondering if any of you ladies have any other great ideas...she's already been given a few word games, has a computer. How about good, cheerful movies? What are some easy crafts that don't require a lot of supplies?
Thanks ladies!
Re: Need ideas for a friend on hospital bedrest please!
I don't know how old she is, or what her personality is like, but I'm ridiculously juvenile sometimes, and have kids colouring books and an 96-pack of crayola crayons for when I'm bored.

Does she have a Netflix account? I will be going in to the hospital on bedrest in a few weeks too, and I will be watching Netflix on my laptop for sure, that is a big one for me (the hosp has wireless, so check to make sure they have that). Perhaps you can get her a few months' subscription?
Are there any books you can lend her? Also, you can check with the hospital, but my room will have a mini refrigerator, so I will be bringing in my own food. Perhaps you can bring a bunch of yummy, healthy snacks for her? Does she have a way to listen to an iPod or have music?

I'm such an old woman in my suggestions! But if I were on bed rest, I could see myself getting really into embroidery (seriously!) And I can totally see myself knitting the time away.
I am dying over these right now and am about to order the pattern to make some funny onesies or bibs for LO.
