I have tons (and I mean tons) of baby boy clothes. Onesies, pants, shirts, socks, ranging from newborn-12 months, you name it...I got it.
Originally I wanted to keep it all in case our next (and last) baby is a boy but damn, that's alot of clothes to keep and frankly, the big plastic tubs take up alot of space.
What do you think? Donate/sell it all and either hope next one is a girl or start from scratch if we have another boy or keep it?
While we're on the subject, what are you doing with the swing, jumperoo, playpen, etc.?
Re: Are you keeping your child's "old" clothes for the next baby?
Yes! And all mine are also in tubs in the garage. I am saving it for our "next" baby...but if the next one is a girl I don't know what I will do with everything that is boy. I would love to have 3 kids but DH isn't really on board with that. I guess I don't really know what I will do with the stuff.
I would probably go though the tubs again and then see what stuff I LOVE and would want as keep sakes and then donate the rest.
As far as jumperoos, playpen, ect. Again save and then either sell to consignment or do a garage sale. Maybe donate to a friend who might want it.
We are pretty sure we are one and done so I am giving away all of DS clothes (my friend is giving me her son's clothes (size 3 and up) so essentially I am just switching sizes)
If we miraculously have another baby-DH has said I can go buy new clothes.
Space bags! Why didn't I think of that?!

Lol! Ain't that the truth.

I've saved everything. Our plan was always to have 2 (maybe 3) and I'm too cheap to buy new stuff for each kid. I made sure to get all gender neutral big stuff. However now DH is rethinking having more children. He definitely doesn't want any more soon and possibly not ever.
So now I'm considering selling our gear and most of her clothing. It's taking up a huge amount of space in our attic, and safety standards may have changed if DH decides he wants another child.
Because we're fancy like that.
Im saving everything in hopes that we can use it again. It does take up a lot of room but I just can't part with it (yet). The space bags are a great idea for clothes. We use bins too and the spare bedroom closet it filling up quickly. The gear is all in our basement for now.
We kept it all. Assuming #2 arrives safely and is, in fact, a girl, I will sell or donate almost all of it (will likely keep a few baby items for nostalgia/keepsakes).
As for big ticket baby gear, I sold his infant carseat b/c I hated it and knew I wouldn't want to use it for another, and we sold the swing b/c it took up so much room. The bouncer/bouncy seat/Pack and Play we've kept and not even in storage b/c everyone we know had babies a year younger than Toodle so my BFF or SIL or someone was always using them when they were over, and now that their little ones are outrgrowing them we will hopefully be using them again soon.
I saved everything.
I'm way too cheap to buy new stuff (pajamas, etc), especially in light of the fact that my kids were sort of planned close together. I had no idea if they would actually BE close together, but that's how I planned it in my head, lol.
Now, baby boy is going to get new clothes, obviously...but he'll be able to wear lots of Caro's hand me downs too. I have lots of gender neutral things.
We saved everything from DS, and now I am saving everything from DD. DD actually did wear a fair amount of DS's clothes to start with, like sleepers. I think girls can wear the boy stuff more than the boys can wear girl stuff. I still go through DS's stuff to see if anything is acceptable for DD.
I have saved everything so far... we have sooo much stuff though! I'm going to go through it all this summer and get rid of some of the stained clothes, and possibly sell some of the outfits that I didn't love as much (mostly gifts from MIL... shh). DD wasn't able to wear everything she had, and I know that we'll buy new clothes for #2 even if we have a girl (there are so many times I've said "aww, I wish DD was tiny enough to wear that" while shopping, so I know I won't be able to resist!!)
I will probably continue to save the clothes (at least the really nice ones) since I have two younger brothers who will most likely have children some day.
I'm keeping the gender neuteral ones, and some of the really cure outfits that I have 2 of, I'll keep one and either sell/donate the other.
I haven't stopped using anything big yet, so I haven't had to make that decision. My gut says to keep one/sell one, because the chance of me having twins again is astronomically small.
Ditto.
