Areolas growing uneven, Should I be concerned?

I am wondering if any of you ladies have experienced this.  It seems on one of my breast the Areola has gotten bigger, of course no surprise there, but the problem is at the bottom of one of my areola's it is sort of growing outside of the regular circle.  I don't know if this is making much sense it's sort of difficult to explain.  It's almost just like it looks like I'm getting a darker area that is protruding (spelling) from the normal circular part.

Thank you so much in advance to anyone who can tell me if they have had this happen and if it's normal!

Re: Areolas growing uneven, Should I be concerned?

  • mine are too. there is no way that they would be symmetrical. nothing to worry about. mine have increased in size by 1000%... :) the right one is much larger than the left one! you are normal! :)

  • Mine too - it has an irregular pattern to it, not an even edge. They're starting to look so weird to me that I'm actually having dreams about having cute, "normal" looking nipples again. Ah well, the things we endure for love.
  • I'm uneven too.  I asked about it at my last appointment and my dr said it wasn't anything to be concerned about.  If it worries you, it never hurts to ask at your next appointment.

  • One of mine did the exact same thing. I told my Doctor and she looked at it and said it was normal. That it sometimes happens due to hormones (and that some women grow a 3rd nipple during pregnancy!!!). But I would have your doctor look at it just in case. Better safe then sorry.
