There are so many cribs out there on so many different websites. I feel like I have looked at them all. I don't know the sex of the baby yet, so it's really hard for me to find a crib. I can't decide on anything. I am so afraid that I am going to pick one out and then they won't have the conversion kits anymore or something. How did everyone decide and what kind of crib did you get?
Re: Cribs are driving me nuts
We already knew the gender when we bought, and once we started shopping in person, we changed everything we thought we wanted in a crib. It's kind of funny. Once we started seeing the actual quality of the wood and craftsmanship, we made a different decision than we thought we would (and spent more). We're happy with the choice, though.
We went with the Slat Crib in white cotton from Young America. It's made so well, quality hardwood, and super easy to assemble, too.

We chose a gender neutral crib that we can use for future babies.(Ikea Gulliver - $100)
It converts to a toddler bed, but it doesn't convert to a full sized bed after that. For us it was unnecessary for the crib to be a convertible crib. But it's really a personal choice.
We didn't have a hard time, mainly because I went with what Baby Bargains recommended, and knew we wanted white furniture for a boy or girl.
DD has the Ikea Gulliver crib and Hemnes dresser. We also have 2 sets of white shelves in there.

We got the Bonavita Peyton Lifestyle for my son. I loved the lines of it, and I read reviews online, so we bought it.
Then, after having it for 19 months with my son and not a MARK on it, we didn't even have to think twice about it, we bought the exact same one again. We now have one in white and one in espresso, with matching Ikea dressers.
Remember that toward the end of June they are changing the cribs that are considered "safe" so you may want to wait until after that...
I am screwed because I already bought and assembled the Ikea Gulliver. I plan to keep it anyway because I do still feel it is safe.
