What size clothes are you buying for your LO? Newborn looks so tiny to me.... I bought some 0-3 month onsies but that's about it. But I am very egar to get my shopping on! TIA
I have gotten some 0-3 months of summery and light long sleeve shirts and pants. I have also gotten a few 3-6 months of colder weather clothes. I am trying not to buy too much because most of my family seems to buy clothes for shower gifts. I am also not sure how she will grow and what she will need for what seasons. It is hard not buying though when I see such cute stuff :-) After my showers I will probably buy some newborn size sleep and play outfits (that is if I don't get any as gifts) in case she is smaller and the 0-3 months are too big since the ones I have seen are 8-12 lbs.
I heard that you should only buy 1-2 Newborn outfits. The rest should be 0-3 months, and of course other sizes as seasonally appropriate.
So far I have bought a couple 0-3 months and got a few more for gifts. I will bring a cute newborn outfit and a 0-3 month outfit to take the LO home in depending on what fits.
I will buy a few warmer 3-6 month outfits, but will probably wait to see how my guy grows. Plus, I have some friends giving me hand-me-downs, so I am going to wait to see what I get.
I am impulsive and can't barely wait for my summer showers. I buy something at TJMaxx or Burlington or on clearance at Babies R Us, every time I go. I have a few newborn onsies (cute ones) and sleepers. I also have 3 months, 6 months, and a couple 9 month outfits. I started making myself buy 9 month clothes since she'll be nine months next April/May and the clothes out now would work for her next year. I have NO CLUE how many outfits a newborn goes through, but I hear I may be changing her an awful lot.
What do I know? I am just an excited, giddy, impulsive, spending fanatic (not good) about our upcoming bundle of joy.
I bought very few newborn outfits... my babies never lasted long in newborn. I think I actually bought more 3-6 than any other sizes, and I got a couple 0-3. Buying for the weather in PA is a lot different than buying for the weather in VA... it seems like it's always cold here, and in VA a few lighter outfits could be worn well into October. There's a good chance I miscalculated some things, but I'm ok with that :P

You'll need a few newborn sized outfits. My DD was in Carter's NB size for a good six weeks. She was swimming in most of her NB size stuff when she was first born, actually. You'll get a lot of clothes at your shower so I'd wait until then to figure out which holes you need to fill.
I didn't buy small sizes before DS b/c I knew I'd get a lot at showers. I took both a NB & 0-3 coming home outfit to the hospital b/c I wasn't sure what size he'd wear. He wore the NB home, but wasn't in that size long at all. (Weighed 8lbs 11oz at birth, but weighed around 8 lbs when we left the hospital.)
With DS I didn't buy ANY newborn outfits because I was told I was having a large baby. He was 8.8lbs and even though thats the weight recommendation on the 0-3 month clothes, they drowned him!! My parents ended up going out to kohls the day he got home and buying some for me. He wore them for 2-4 weeks so I would suggest getting a few newborn outfits/onsies.

We have only purchased 4 outfits, and they were all 12months+.
Since we have already received NB,0-3, 3-6, & 6-9 clothes as gifts, I figure that trend will continue at our showers. Plus my MIL works for Macy's and has already told us she bought a whole wardrobe for her granddaughter. I expect we won't need to buy anything below 12 months.
