I call it my little locust because I'm always ravenous and it sounded better than my little tapeworm. My husband was a notoriously hungry child and it was his nickname. My sister swears this is negative prenatal bonding but it makes the hunger (and then puking) a little better
We started calling our baby Newbie when we found out about the pregnancy. We know she's a girl now but are having a hard time picking a name so we still call her Newbie (& so do friends & family!).
We call him or her T-rex. I'm not sure how that happened, but we really thought it would be so cool for him/her to go into Kindergarten on the first day and say, "My name is T-rex." "No, really, it is!"
We've shortned it now to Baby-T, and now truly believe we're going to have to name the baby something that starts with a T because we've become so used to it. A boy could be named Ty Rexford-shortned to T-Rex, haha. We don't plan to take it that far though. It's been a pretty fun nick name though. All of our friends ask how T-Rex is doing now too:)
with DS i always called him a him right from the begining.... i guess it was just intuition and same with this one I call him, him...and until i know something different he will be a him.
I know this sounds bizzare, but we call the baby "sugary whispers." When we were on our honeymoon, my husband was trying to get me to laugh and I wouldn't, so he started talking nonsense. He couldn't believe that I wasn't even giving him a smile so he said, "not even a whisper? Not a sugary whisper?!" It was the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard so I actually laughed so hard I cried. A few days later we found out I was pregnant and I couldn't stop smiling the whole day, and since it was the baby that was making me smile, we just started calling it "sugary whispers." I hope the nickname doesn't stick after it's born because it is so silly, but it makes us laugh so it might!
For our first pregnancy (which ended in m/c), we called the baby "Bob" short for Baby O'Brien. For our second pregnancy we called the baby "Tater" because I was sprouting a lil' veggie. Tater later became "Tater Skip" after the first 3-D ultrasound which revealed that Tater resembled the demon Skip from the tv show "Angel". Once it was discovered it was a girl, we called her Emma. Emma's pregnancy was rough so I swore it was my last one. "Never again!". Well, here I am, pregnant again. So we call this one "007", as in "Never Say Never Again".
Re: What do you call your baby?
The "Baby" or "Beastie".
My best friend's sister has the nickname Doodle. It stuck. She's graduating from high school this year. lol
And we just say baby. Not even "the baby", just baby. lol
Got Swag?
So cute!
