A clicky poll about poop

Re: A clicky poll about poop

  • I firmly believe if you think you didn't poop, that dh, the nurse, the doc and whoever else all lied to you because they knew you'd freak.

  • I honestly have no idea if I pooped or not. TMI: I pooped a TON before we got to the hospital so I'm not sure I had anything left in me.

  • If I did, I'm 100% sure DH didn't even know about it, because he definitely would have told me.  lol  So who knows??  I couldn't tell w/ my epidural.  But at least it wasn't obvious.
  • I am assuming I did because I needed to poop before I got my epi but the contractions were too bad to do so. I delivered 7 hours after I got my epi so I sure that I still need and did poop as soon as I started pushing.

Oh trust me, you did. I pooped for like 6 hours straight and I still pooped on the table (it was after he was born, but it still counts)

  • I don't know how you could push out a baby and NOT poop.  If you're pushing properly, it's just like pushing out a big terd.  Good pusher = pooper.  Yes
  • I honestly don't know.  I think I did, but I didn't want to know so I didn't ask and no body volunteered the info.

  • People don't always poop. I pooped a ton before getting to the hospital and was only at the hospital for 45 minutes when Oliver was born. I pushed only twice before Oliver came out. I had no meds so I would have felt it . Plus my mom and SO was there and both were looking and would have told me if I did.

  • The candid responses here and on FFFC are hilarious. I was paranoid about pooping but ended up with a c-section, so no poop for me. I know it's normal and common but I was still worried in the beginning (before I realized that DD had camped out, with no desire to come out that way).

LOL!  I was worried I'd poop a lot since I hadn't in a few days.  Then my water broke and I shiit my brains out, pretty literally, for about 20 minutes.  I had a med free birth, pushed for an hour and had NO idea if I pooped.  I asked DH after and he said yes but just 2 really small pieces. LOL, we hold nothing back in our marriage obviously!

  • My system did a major cleansing the instant I went into labor both times.

And both boys came out in 5 pushes or less (only 1 with the second).

So I don't think it happened, but I could be wrong!

  • I really don't know if I did, and I just realized this is the first time in 5+ months that I've thought about it!  Isn't that hilarious, I was terrified of pooping.  I had a fabulous epi and didn't feel anything - tearing, snipping, sewing, delivering the placenta, anything.  So if I did poop, no one told me.  DH was by my head, so he wouldn't have seen either.  Huh.

  • I pooped a ton before I got to the hospital.  I did peep all over the doctor though!!  My hubby would have told me if I pooped so I know I didn't.  He said I nailed the doc with peep!  Hehe!
  • I voted "no"  - but I also didn't ask. I voted this way given the extremely large BM I had (in the bathroom) just before I got my epi. I almost passed out from it - seriously huge wave of nausea (or should I say, noshes?)

I kept saying "my as$ is falling off, i think my as$ is going to fall off, dh seriously i think my as$ is going to fall off" looking back it was really funny, but at the time I was like "omg is it seriously going to fall off?!?!"

  • I poo'd in the shower and Dh was the only one with me.  I didn't realize it until he said "Honey, I need the towel your sitting on cuz you poo'd on it." lol I pooped during crowning. I couldn't feel it but the MW made my butt raw with a rough arse washcloth. Raw butt is almost as bad as blown out crotch.

I had the runs my ENTIRE pregnancy so it wasn't pieces of poo, it was puddles. lol

  • I did. A lot. And there was 8 people in the OR (multiples have to deliver in the OR just in case) plus the paediatric resus. team. I have no idea how many people there actually was watching me crap and push out 2 babies. I was on display for the world to see and it sucked. Oh well.

  • I know I did. I told the nurse to get me a bed pan because I had to go and she was convinced that it was just because my body was pushing (like I had no control over it) and guess what. I pooped. Just like I told her I had too. Serves her right I guess LOL

  • I did not poop, and only pushed for about 45 minutes.  I thought it might have happened but it didn't.

I'm seriously DYING over here from this thread!  I just remember back in 3T people were having panic attacks about pooping during delivery.  Now we're all like "Meh, I shiit my brains out on the table.  Oh well!"

This! My OB was shocked how well I was pushing and I know I pooped.

  • I did not. My body cleaned itself out before I went to the hospital. I asked both time because I was sure I had, but I didn't!
  • I delivered vaginally with no drugs and still don't know if I pooped or not.  I guess I really wasn't paying enough attention.

  • I asked both times because I really really wanted to know, they said I didn't.  But apparently I have the crotch of a whoore because both babies slid right out :) In my defense, they were tiny, Stick out tongue

I was worried about that too! As soon as the spinal block kicked in I was farting like a man, and I was convinced I was going to poop too, but I didn't. Thank God. I don't know if that happens though.
