I've got some store credit at Motherhood, and it doesn't make sense for me to buy more maternity clothes this late in my pregnancy. But is it too early to start buying nursing tops and bras?
Also, if anyone can recommend brands they love? I have a friend that swears by GlamourMom tanks, but I would like to hear what others think.
Thanks!
Re: When to buy nursing tops/bras?
I bought a nursing nightgown and one of the Medela sleep bras for the hospital. I assumed I would buy more later, but I ended up only being able to nurse for about 4 weeks. I was really glad I didn't buy a bunch before!
Oh and another tip...buy the Medela lanolin...it goes on so much easier and smoother than any of the others IMO!
Ditto--don't invest too much on nursing bras before Baby. My size increased a lot after my milk came in. If you want to spend the money now, get a nursing top or nightgown.
OMG...I agree that the Medela lanolin was the best!!
If you have credit to burn and you need to use it now, get a sleeping bra or more basic tank tops for that transition time back to your regular clothes. Even if you don't end up being able to breastfeed, they are supercomfy for lounging around in.
The nursing tanks didn't end up working for me...I found that the girls were free-wheeling leakers and needed to be straped up most all of the time.
My favorite nursing bras were the ones I got at the lactation center in the hospital when he was about 2 weeks old.
Happy Shopping!
Also agree not to buy much before baby. I bought a couple nursing tanks from target. I hate them and glamormom. don't like the style with holes for my girls
I LOVE Bravada brand. The tanks and bras are awesome, I like the tanks the best, they are pricey but worth it.

FYI...Bravado makes a brand for Target.
Awesome! Thanks for all the tips, guys! I didn't know how big boobs get after the milk comes in, but judging from your responses, they could get quite large. Scary.
I'll make a note of the Lansinoh lanolin! I think I put some on my registry. But it might've been Medela.
ladipale ? Bravado got good reviews on Amazon, but it is very pricey! I'm going to try to get away with just wearing nursing tanks instead of bras, so I'll check it out. Hopefully there's a store nearby that has them.
ETA: Oh, apparently Target has Bravado. Thanks mary!
These are my favorite nursing bras EVA! They are so darn comfy! I wish I hadn't wasted my money on nursing tanks and other bras I bought.
The Target nursing tanks were great in the beginning, but once things regulated (and wasn't super engorged) they fit weird. I hardly ever use them now.
You WANT the Medela brand! :-)
And I think the Bravado brand at Target is called Bliss by Bravado.
OMG
Preggo brain.
Haha...no worries!
