No offense...I got my second beta's back today...I am no longer pregnant I lost the baby today. I am now waiting for the bleeding to start. It has not yet started. I know this was only a chemical pregnancy but I feel so heartbroken.I feel lost and confused too, because this is my third miscarriage. My doctor has now told me that they can no longer do anything for me anymore...and sent me to a fertility clinic. My insurance does not cover that...and because of the expense I cannot justify spending all that money when I have 4 other children already here to focus on. So instead I am going to see a Maternal fetal medicine and genetics doctor and they will coincide with my (hopefully new) gyno to help me conceive and keep the pregnancy. I am hoping for the bestIn the meantime I will go back to my regular doctor and get a full thyroid workup, go back to my vitex, epo and I believe I will start using progesterone cream to help me keep a baby if I get pregnant...that way I know I am doing something. I know it is not as good as progesterone supplements but I know my insurancedoes not cover those until after pregnancy has been established. For those of you who have had chemical m/c or any other type of m/c, has it always been because of progesterone? My first two I would like to think it was not. I lost my first one at 7 weeks, because her heart rate was low from the start. By the time it went up and was normal I was bleeding. I lost her the next day (two days after I found out my husband was having an affair. Thesecond pregnancy I had an infection that I truly believe cost me the baby, I started the m/c at 5 weeks with spotting and low hcg's no fetal pole just a sac, finally lost it at 7 weeks....but now I am on my third and I know chemical m/c are quite common, but could it be my hormones be out of whack? Do I even bother to try again right away, or wait for full work ups on the m/c I have had? I am so confused, scared and frustrated.
I am so sorry for your loss and that you are going through all this. My t&p's are with you

I had a c/p a couple months ago, but it was my first so they didn't do any tests. I do know that I have a MTHFR gene mutation, and it is really common for women with this to have multiple m/c and find out after the fact that this is the reason.
Take the time to grieve and heal and take care of yourself! ((hugs))
I am so sorry you are going through this. A CP is still a pregnancy and it's normal to grieve. Have you ever posted on TTCAL? You may find some insight as well as support from the wonderful ladies there. I know I have.
. I know this was only a chemical pregnancy but I feel so heartbroken.
I felt that way too. I was on the Dec board a day so I have been still on there reading your posts and rooting for you. Don't have any advice but wanted to say I'm sorry to hear that.
GBCB- Leaving the bump in protest of the new changes. No privacy= no bump for me.
I'm so sorry you had to come back. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I had a cp in sept of last year and I still get sad about it from time to time. I hope you will be successful in the future months.
I am so very sorry for your loss, Becca. {{hugs}} and T&Ps for you, dear.

I'm so sorry for your loss Becca! It breaks my heart to hear that you are coming back. I hope that you and your doctor can figure a plan out and that you get a sticky baby soon! ((big, big hugs))
I'm so sorry, dear! I had a CP a few months ago, and, to answer your questions as best I can, mine was not because of progesterone. I know because they tested that a couple days before I found out I was pregnant, and the dr. said it looked great. As far as trying again right away, I can't say. I had to wait a month, but it wasn't because of the CP. Also, it's perfectly normal to feel heartbroken. I'm really sorry for your loss, dear. I'll pray that your new drs. can help get this figured out.
I am so sorry for your loss. It's so hard to be so excited for so long and then it's gone in a second. Big Hugs I'm so sorry.
I had a c/p and it was the first one so the dr didn't even think twice about it and didn't test anything but thyroids, even though my progesterone WAS very low. But I just went back to him for the first time and becuase my period/ovulation is late still, he's now testing progesterone to see if I may have a problem.
It wouldn't hurt to get it tested. Maybe your new OB will be more proactive. Don't settle for "it happens." I hate that. I demanded for my levels to be tested, even though it was my first one. I want to make sure it was purely a "fluke" like they say. Don't be afraid to stand your ground, you want to find out now so it doesn't keep happening. How long did your OB suggest to wait? My dr swears by waiting 3 months no matter how far along. I hope you can find comfort in this difficult time.

To answer your question, there are all sorts of reasons for repeat losses: hormonal imbalances, blood clotting disorder, chromosomal issue (like a translocation/balanced translocation), structural issue with the uterus, and sometimes even fibroids/cysts if severe enough can cause losses and sometimes there are no answers. I would recommend getting a repeat loss blood panel. Maybe even an HSG and a karyotype performed on both you and your DH.
Page me if you have any more questions. I hang out mostly on TTCAL. You are not alone. I am just so sad that you have to go through this.

I've only had one chemical that I know of, and I do have a progesterone issue.
I'm not sure of your history but I'm assuming you've had CD3 & CD21 bloodwork done? I can't see why a gynecologist wouldn't run those after this.
