DD is in swim. She just turned 8 months on Saturday. Anyway, there are two other babies in the class, both are a month older than DD.
They were discussing what their LO eats and I mentioned that she's mostly on finger foods and isn't much a fan of purees anymore (which I still use because I have some in the freezer still).
They looked at me like I was nuts over what she eats. She has things like elbow mac, turkey, chicken, peas, green beans, peaches, etc. She's had a LOT of stuff already and does fine with it.
Is it odd that she eats pretty much everything? Are your 8 month olds eating finger foods mostly?
Re: What is your 8 month old eating? And am I odd?
I don't think it's odd at all!
Morgan hasn't quite figured out picking up the food and putting it in her mouth yet, but she eats pretty much everything you said above in puree form (or, I put bits in her mouth for her).
Just kidding. I wouldn't worry about it. Some babies do better than others on finger foods. And some moms are more adventurous than others.
I think it's pretty common for babies to reject purees once they have the finger food thing down. It's their opportunity to exert control.
(I have a 7-month-old. We're working on finger foods and I'll be thrilled if I can ditch the purees in a month.)
