When I got PG, my RE checked my TSH level again (it was normal before pregnancy). It was high, so he put me on Synthroid. They checked it again this weekend since they were discharging me and now it's too low... 0.07. They lowered my dose but now I'm nervous. I have heard that it takes weeks for the meds to regulate your levels and that low levels can cause m/c and birth defects.

Re: Now my TSH is too low
They didn't say anything- just that my level was 0.07 which is too low so they were adjusting my meds and would call in a new script. I started googling after I got off the phone with them and that's when I read those things. I feel like they wouldn't say anything because of our discussion at my last u/s. Once we found out the babies were measuring okay, he asked me why I was so worried. I told him "you can't say 'everything might be okay or you might lose it' to a pregnant lady that has already had a loss and expect her not to freak out" he told me he would remove those words from his vocabulary.

Hmmm, I was going to say that if they thought it was dangeroous they would tell you, but maybe not. Can you call and ask what that means for the babies? We all know Google is notorious for presenting only the absolute worst-case scenarios. I googled myself into a panic over a rash I had early on, everything on the internet said it caused m/c and/or birth defects. When I asked my derm and my OB they both said no way and had no idea what I was even talking about and had never heard that there was any correlation.
Bottom line, step away from Google and call your doctor. I hope things turn out alright. T&Ps for you and your LOs.
I know it's hard not to worry but thyroid levels have a tendency to flucuate a lot during pregnancy and especially during the first trimester. The Synthroid combined with the pregnancy is just doing it's job a little too well and now you are hyperthyroid. The reduction in dose should help.
Did they check anything other than just your TSH? It's more important that your other thyroid levels are normal than just your TSH. I have had my TSH tested and it come back at a zero, but my free T and T3 and some other levels came back completely normal.
Lastly, the internet will always give you the worst case scenarios. At this point you're doing everything you can for your own health and the health of your babies and no amount of reading will change that.
I hope your next levels come back wonderful.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
This Cluttered Life
They only checked my TSH. I know I need to stay away from Dr. Google but I'm like an addict looking for one last fix!

I'm sorry you're dealing with that ((((hugs))))
Hopefully your doc didn't mention it, because he's not concerned.
Lots of thoughts, prayers and positive vibes for all of you!
All of this. As for the bolded part, my peri recommends testing free T4 and says that T3 actually doesn't matter (mine was a bit low last time). I plan to ask my endo to add the free T4 test (there's more than one T4 test) to my bloodwork when I see him this week.
