I know there have been tons of posts from worried people like myself who suddenly notice a drastic decrease in fetal movement. After 4 days of decreased movement even after eating and drinking sweet stuff I finally called my doc this morning. (I waited 4 days b/c I hate to be that annying 1st time mom that calls all the time.)
She told me to drink a small cup of coffee and if I didn't get 5 movements within 10-15 mins go to the hospital to get monitered and call her on my way there. Well I got a cup of coffee and before finishing half I started getting tons of movement. Within 15 minutes I got way over 25 movements (I stopped counting at 25)
I am by no means dishing out medical advice but now I won't feel as worried in the next few weeks as movement slows down b/c he is running out of room. If your doc gave you any other tips to jump start movement when you are worried please share with me!
PS I hope this info will help someone out there worry a little less.
Re: If like me you freak out about decreased movement..
Me too! This is my first caffeinated drink post BFP! I am just an uber cautious mom to be. But hey I figured it was doctors orders.
A cup of tea gets my babies going.
But please, please don't ever wait four days--or even two--of not feeling movement to call your doctor. It's okay to be the nervous first time mom.
