If your use an infant seat w/ the BJCS, which one do you have and does it snap in place? Or do you need a bar/strap?
I need to hurry up and get #2's infant seat. I've read that the Maxi Cosi Mico is the only one that snaps into the adaptor. If true, then I think it's the one I'll get. I plan on ordering it online and the website doesn't have free returns, so I just want to make sure that it will snap into place and that there aren't any other brands that will do the same. Thanks!
Re: Baby Jogger City Select Owners: What infant seat do you have?
We have a Graco Snugride 32. It fits on the universal adapter bar, but saying it "snaps" in place is a stretch. The bar is really not very secure. It has a strap that you have to secure around the back of the car seat to hold it in place, and even then it flops around a bit. Most of the reviews I've read have reported similar problems. We've never had any problems with the seat staying on, but every time we used it, I was nervous.
It's not clear to me from your post whether you are aware that you have to buy a separate adapter bar to be able to use any infant seat with the BJCS. The adapter does not come with the stroller.

Thanks for the info. I do know I'll need a seperate adaptor, I've just read that the Mico is the most secure seat not needing the strap.
We have a Graco Snugride (the basic 22 pound model). It fits on the BJCS just fine. Nothing carseat really "snaps" in place - you need to be more careful putting any carseat on the universal adapter - but it fits and is secure once you buckle everything in place.
I happen to have a picture handy (I just wrote a review of the BJCS for a stroller blog):

In my opinion it would be really really stupid to not use the strap on this stroller. The way the universal adapter works, NO carseat would be 100% secure without it. It takes an extra 10 seconds to buckle it.

This...but I will still use the strap with it
Just wanted to update that I ordered the Maxi Cosi Mico and it snaps into the universal adaptor brackets perfectly. The universal adaptor kit comes with all these bars and things and I'm so glad I don't have to mess around with them, just the two brackets. The seat feels very secure but does come with a safety strap.
I considered the Chicco Keyfit, but since I don't plan on using the seat past 6 months or so I didn't see the point in the extra weight of the seat. The mico only weighs 8lbs, the keyfit is something like 16 I think.
