Hi Ladies,
Any ideas on resources to find infant daycare? I couldn't find much online for my area, have talked to my preschool and moms from my preschool and even reached out to my realtor for local suggestions. I even tried some of the local meet up groups.
Most of the local ladies are stay at home moms, so I'm not sure who else to ask. I've checked out the large daycare centers but am trying to find a good, home daycare with several children.
TIA!
Re: Any ideas on finding infant daycare?
Call around to your area churches... a lot of in home centers will advertise in their church's bulletins.
From what I've noticed, most in home centers don't really need to advertise, because they usually go by word of mouth. My grandma ran one for many years, and just strictly cared for newborn to 18 months. She only took 4 or 5 babies at a time, and when one left at 18 months, she always had several people waiting to put their baby in.
Be careful with in home centers though... they can be wonderful, but a lot (I'd say most) are kind of shady. Be sure you do background checks on the provider, check their references, and licenses, etc.
Thanks so much for all of the great ideas. I didn't think of the churches or pediatricians. With DS, I was lucky that we had access to a company sponsored daycare program.
I can't believe some places are already full until February!
