Hi. So I know it's a little early but my sister just had a baby and told me the best thing I can do for myself if I am planning on breastfeeding is to line up a lactation consultant now so that I will have someone come to the house soon after delivery. If anyone used a lactation consultant, how did you go about finding one? My sister found one through her OBGYN by they were a bit more holistic than my practice and I don't know if they will have a referral for me. How does La Leche League work?
Re: Info on Lactation Consultants
Definitely one thing I wish I would have done before having my LO - calling a LC or going to some breastfeeding classes to listen to stories/concerns, ask questions.
I pretty much winged it and was very lucky and thankful that my LO was great at latching on from the start and was/is an efficent eater.
For my next one I definitely will do all this before hand to help refresh my memory and ease the first month anxiety.
