DS is ready to move up to a new seat, can you please recommend yours? Why do you like it, what kind of car do you have? We have a CRV and I'm concerned about size.
I have a Recaro ProRide and it is in my Honda Element. We just switched her four days ago and everything seems to be working just fine. I do have to get in the back seat from the opposite side to put her in, but that is bc my car has "stadium" seating and suicide doors. (They open in the opposite direction.) This is fine with me, though! I know that if you choose to go with this seat, and purchase it through Amazon, they have a code for $30 off before the 30th and free shipping. Good luck!
We have a Graco My Ride 65 and love it. It's a little more bulky but fits in our small Hyundai Accord (the front seats don't have as much wiggle room as normal, but it works). I love it for the big weight/height ranges and the ability to stay rear facing so long, especially now that they are recommending kids to stay rear facing for 2 years.
We have this one too. In my Jeep Liberty we do have to put the passenger side front seat up all the way to get a good fit. DH and I are both tall so neither of us can sit in front anymore....but we don't use my car as the family car, so it's usually just me and DS anyways.

Re: Convertible carseats- recommendations please
We've used an Evenflo Triumph Advance since birth in my 05 CRV. It's SO easy to adjust.
We also have a First Years True Fit in DH's 08 Honda Fit. We just put the headrest on and decreased the recline and it still fits great.
She looks really comfy in both.
We have an Evenflo Symphony 65 and love it!
