Tattoos and ttc

Just wondering what opinions are on getting a tattoo while ttc. I mentioned last night to Dh I was thinking of going with a friend from work next week to get one and he insists that that is not Ok. It sucks it'll be so close to O time so I'll admit I'm a little hesitant as well. Thoughts?

    If you have any doubts, I would probably just wait.  Then if this cycle doesn't work out, you can plan on going at the very beginning of the next one. If this turns out to be your BFP cycle, you wouldn't want to have any extra anxiety because of getting the tattoo, YKWIM?  I don't really know all that is involved in getting a tattoo, but if the recovery means pain meds, you wouldn't want to have to worry what is/isn't safe to take if you could be pregnant.

    In no way do I have a "scientific" answer, but as a tattoo lover I thought I'd chime in.

    Since getting a tattoo is really needles piercing the skin, pain and stress are involved.  To battle the stress and pain, your body is going to react by producing hormones and endorphins to combat that stress.  This may not put you at your best for TTC. I don't think it would be harmful per se, but It may not be too helpful either.

    Thanks ladies - probably should have just planned it for this past week but it was a doozy. At this rate I'll be lucky if the stress from this week alone doens't screw up my cycle, but you're right, I don't really want to push it any further.

    I want to get a pair of horseshoes w/ vines on my foot. I've heard that is a super painful place to get one but I really love the way they look in sandals. I have a "tramp stamp" i got 13yrs ago and I've wanted to get another but just was never sure what to get. Dh is adamantly against it until after we have a baby but ugh... I hate pushing anything else I want to do off for something that is clearly taking longer than we anticipated. *sigh*

    Not that it correlates AT ALL! but....  We'd been trying for 13 cycles and the cycle I got my tattoo (on cd 5) I got my first ever BFP. :D LOL
