Why is it that when a parent decides they want a unique spelling for a well-known name, they either throw in way too many extra vowels, or they leave out necessary vowels? What is so wrong with the original spelling variations of names? If parents want something that stands out, why couldn't they just give their child a less common name rather than butchering a popular name?
