Baby Bun has biting - not hard, but enough that we have been trying to redirect her. We usually tell her no biting and then sit her down.It's usually a slow bite with her teeth dragging (you need this imagery).
She bit me while nursing a little bit ago. I pulled back and told her no biting, that hurts Mommy, and made a face. She stuck her lower lip out and it quivered. She has NEVER done that. It about broke my heart, but my nipple was hurting and I will not tolerate biting. I let her try nursing again, and she did it again. I said the same thing and she stuck her lip out again and almost cried. I gave her a hug, put my boob away and sat her down.
I feel horrible that I hurt her feelings, but there will be no biting.
Re: I just hurt my baby's feelings.
It's so pathetic, but I can't help but laugh at it. I'm such a stellar mom, no?
we are just starting to deal with this.
(although we had to deal w/ some of it before...I thnk my daughter may actually know the words"latch nice"
)
While we haven't experienced the pouty lip here yet we have had biting.
Now she will give a little nip and look up at me like she's saying, "What? I'm not doing anything Mom."
It's almost like she thinks it's a game. Very frustrating (and painful) for Mommy!
