My son is probably teething now. He's drooling a lot, has watery poo for the last two days and cries in pain on and off (not related to his gas issues because he quiets quickly if he starts chewing on his paci). I know a lot of moms swear by them, some not so much, but I don't want to rip open every teething toy in my stash just to find out he hates them all when Sophie may do the trick.
I haven't tried the washcloth in the freezer method just yet, but I'd figure it wouldn't hurt to ask your experiences with Sophie. I know he's ready to start gnawing away on stuff because when he's not trying to shove both fists in his mouth, he will try to chew on burp cloths.
My DH thinks I'm crazy to want to plunk down the nearly $20 it costs to buy it, but if it keeps my son occupied and not howl at the top of his lungs, then I'll get it. My son and my eardrums will be grateful for any feedback at all.

I picked up Sophie for Parker when he was almost 3 months old. He had off and on interest in her and didn't do much in the way of using her as a teether, For about the past 6 months, He has been excessively drooling. Mostly he likes to shove his bib in his mouth though. About a week ago, we saw his little bottom tooth coming through, Since then he has loved Sophie and chews on her whenever she is in his reach. His favorite is to chew on her ear but will also stick a leg in his mouth and on occasion has had her whole head in his mouth. She really keeps him entertained now that he is a little older. I believe some of his interest is held also because he is learning cause and effect, can grasp better, and is reaching for things and creating ways (rolling, scooting) to get to what he wants. Overall, in my book, Sophie was well worth the money spent.

I ordered this guy: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001T7TN2E but haven't received it yet. Anyone use this? It's by the same makers of Sophie but didn't have the long legs and was cheaper so I went for this instead. Hope it wasn't a mistake!
i wasnt going to get sophie until i couldnt deny that due to the hype there must be some to it. so i got her when dd was about 3 months. sophie was to big for dd to manipulate. but once around 4 months sophie became #1!
i want to add that my pediatrician says dont freeze things gto teeth on...only refridgerate because baby gums are so tender that frostbite easy sets in.

Same here. A just kind of sits there and holds her.
For this child I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of him.
