Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Anyone have a Britax cowmooflage carseat?

I was looking at this print (I am getting a Britax regardless) and my SIL who has a 16 month old said that the white might get stained easily with as much food toddler's throw around. I figured I would ask the toddler board to see what you guys think :) TIA.

  • We have the Roundabout 50 Classic in the Cowmooflage. My son hasn't had anything other than a sippy of water in his carseat so far, so I can't really speak about it staining easily or not. I don't see it being any different than any other print though, the white is not a bright white where dirt or food would show up too much if it did get stained. I would go for it! It's such a cute different pattern!

  • I don't have a toddler and technically am not supposed to be here but I do have this car seat so I figured I would reply.  Actually the print is not as white as you think.  Its has a very off white/yellowish tint to it.  I love it.  My 10 month old has kept it pretty clean so far.  Its a very soft material and she seems to like it.  The only problem I have with it is that the foam headrest snapped as soon as we got it.  But if that happens and you contact Britax they send you replacement foam.  Good luck
  • I dont have the cowmoo pattern, but I know plenty of people who do. I guess it all depends on how much food you plan on serving in your car. I've gone almost 6 years without giving my kids more than the occasional cracker to hold them over on a long trip, so food staining the car seat is pretty much impossible for us :)  I just dont think there's much need to give kids food in the car very often so I dont really see that as an issue but plenty of parents feed their kids entire meals in the car.
  • I wouldn't even though I thought it was a cute pattern too.  We spend a lot of time in the car and we live far from everything.  Some mornings we are running late to Gymboree or a playdate and I give DD breakfast in the car.  I NEVER thought I would do that but it happens on occasion.  I'm so glad I got a darker seat so that the food doesn't stain.

We also have a 30-40 minute drive to anything and sometimes I will give DD a snack in the car till we get there.  I can't skip meals b/c she is too low in weight so snacks are important for us.

I never thought we would feed in the car but sometimes life happens.

  • We have the Boulevard in Cowmooflage and LOVE IT!  We let him have dry snacks (crackers, little cookies, etc) and water in the car so there is nothing to stain it.

  • We have the marathon in cowmooflage. It is super cute and the white isn't actually white as someone else said. It is off white with yellowish in it. LO eats in her car seat all of the time and the cover still looks brand new, minus some crumbs. Would I let her drink something red in it? No, but she doesn't really drink juice much anyway and prefers water. I doubt you would let LO drink something like that in any car seat anyway. You can take the cover off and wash. My SIL does it all of the time to her Britax. I say go for it.

  • I went back and forth on the Cowmooflauge but am so happy I went with it!  It really doesn't show much (because of being more of an off-white) and I love the pattern.

  • I have the coomooflage with our Britax marathon. We had the ultimate test this past weekend. My DS vomited on the drive to our ILs. Luckily, I always keep a papertowel roll and plastic bag in my trunk (plus we had a change of clothes). The seat was easily cleanable until we got to our ILs; however, when we got to our ILs we realized that the cover is hand wash/line dry only. The cover did not stain but the vomit smell was overwhelming . We tried to air dry using my ILs dryer but it was still pretty damp. Unfortunately, my son had to sit on plastic bags and towels on the way home because the cover was still damp on the drive home (probably not the safest). In hindsight, he probably would have been fine sitting in the car seat without the cover since he slept the whole way home (it's a 90 minute drive).

We like Britax car seats. For DC#2, I'll be looking for a machine washable/dryable cover - if one exists with Britax.

We wash the our cover in the machine even though it says hand wash only.  We use the delicate cycle and then line dry.   It comes out very clean!
