If your kid loves spatulas . . .

(DCtoLow & QueSrah, I'm looking at you!)

Target has a bunch of really cute Easter/spring ones in their dollar aisle. I got C a big blue Easter egg shaped spatula for his Easter basket. That probably sounds weird unless you know his love for kitchen utensils.

And if he cares to share it with me, it will probably be the perfect size for pancakes.

    kitchen utensils are the greatest toys in our house too. When I was in San Fran I found these and DD loves them!

    Cool!  I'll have to add Target to my to do list for this weekend.  Those HeadChefs ones are hilarious!

    I have one spatula I can't seem to get back from T.  Every once in a while I toss it in the dishwasher expecting to put it away, but even if she's forgotten about it for a few days she's always there when I empty the dishwasher and she walks off with it again.  More spatulas would definitely be a win-win :)

    This is so funny. When did your kids show a specific interest in kitchen utensils? I give M some things to play with when we're in the kitchen together (cups, spoons, metal pie plates, spatulas) and he likes playing with them, but not above and beyond other toys.

    the fascination with utensils started early in our house-maybe around 6 months- and they are still the number one toys. Nothing better than a whisk and a mixing bowl plus any sort of ball/cookie/socks/etc to stir! But, she also like to sit on the counter and 'help' if I am making anything.

    T got into the mixing spoons somewhere between 9 and 12 months, and was WAAAAYYY into the mixing bowls then.  (They stack!  And make hats!  And you can put stuff in them!)  She had forgotten about the wonder of spoons for a while, but I think a certain two cute boys got her back into them :)

    I will zoom over to Target and get an armful! I've been wondering what to put in his Easter basket, considering what I did last year (candy that I intended to eat on his behalf) will not suffice this year. Kitchen utensils will be a hit.

    DS has my new plastic colander, a pastry brush (with silicone bristles) and we've given him a large stoneyfield yogurt container to play with.  kitchen utensils and empty containers are the bomb.

    same with sprout.  and he'll chase an empty 2 liter around the house (batting it like a cat would) all freaking day.  it's a nice break from all the toys that light up & make noise that his grandma has bought him!

    My Target didn't have the spatulas in the dollar aisle, but at least I was able to load up on sidewalk chalk.  (Super bonus - T didn't even try to lick the chalk today!  Though she had to taste the crayons I got out after chalk time, and announced they were yummy.)
