Pictures with the Easter Bunny... Update!

Who's taken their LO(s) to get pictures with the EB? We are going to attempt it today after work. Should be entertaining! A didn't seem to care of Santa, so I'm sure a big bunny she won't like either.Embarrassed We are heading up to White Marsh Mall, has anyone been? Any pointers for a first timer? Smile

Update: Took DD to the Mall, loved the response I got from people who were just walking around. Went to see Mr. Bunny, she kind of just waved at him, and liked the chicken better. She would not sit on his lap, and we didn't try to take pictures. So we left. We've decided to just do pictures on Easter Morning with Family after church. I was surprised that she did so well, considering how shy she is.

Re: Pictures with the Easter Bunny... Update!

  • LOL - Ella has ZERO interest in doing pics w/ Santa, Easter Bunny, etc.  She loves watching them, but actually sitting on their laps??  No thank you!  Someday maybe I will convince her to do it!

  • We've actually been twice..hehe.  Ava LOVED the Easter Bunny, so much  we took her back because she kept asking about him.  She didn't like Santa either this year and wouldn't sit on his lap, maybe because he was a man?

The lady doing the pictures was really nice at WM. Pictures are ridiculously expensive though so we just took our own.

  • I really don't see the appeal of pictures with the Easter Bunny. They all look like cheap giant stuffed animals. Maybe if their costumes were more realistic and less cartoonish I wouldn't be bothered by it. To answer the question-- No, I don't plan on taking Ada.

I am slightly skeeved out by them as an adult, but I remember loving them as a little kid.  When we were little though, you actually go to talk to Santa and the EB, so there was more to it, but now its JUST a photo op.

Okay so they let you take pictures? I'll remind DH to bring the camera.

I have a feeling we won't even get pictures. Last year we had pictures taken at Sears, with a tiny stuffed bunny. I figure worst case, I'll just bring her home and take pictures at there.

  • I wasn't planning to take Mia anyway, but apparently an Easter Bunny came to school and she wouldn't go near him, so I definitely won't bother.  She didn't see Santa at Christmas either.  I'm a bad Mommy.

    Welcome to the club.

I will take pics on Easter @ church and probably this weekend at the Easter Egg Hunt we are going too.

  • No pointers - we're in the same boat! We're going to attempt it this weekend at the Columbia Mall.  Belle was only 2 weeks old at Christmas, so we didn't even think of trying to get her pic with Santa, so this should be interesting...

Good luck to you!  Can't wait to see how it goes :-)

Santa came to daycare so that's the only way Annabelle saw him.

  • Last year we did the Easter Bunny at.. I can't even think of the name of the mall, where Stebbins is..blank.

Anyways, I agree that the costumes are a little freaky.  I think we're going to skip this year, it was hard enough to convince her to sit with Santa and at least he's human looking.

  • I can't stand the Santa and Easter Bunny pictures.. but the Easter bunny even less than Santa. Not only are they so cheesy but also extremely overpriced for a crappy quality photo.

On a sidenote, I do pics with a real life bunny  :)

What do you do w/ the bunny afterward?

  • Kathryn's comment kind of made me worry that people would think I use a rabbit for pictures and then get rid of him. OMG NEVER! He is my pet bunny, and happens to be so good that I can use him for pics too.

I just want to make sure you all see that he is a happy pet!!

This is where he gets to run all day long.. it's more or less his room (you can see him in the corner under the table)

  • LOL - no worries.

I saw something on another photogs blog about doing bunny pics and I thought "what does she do w/ the bunny after Easter?"
