Opinions

My SO is coming home on leave around my due date.  On previous posts, I have discussed gifts to get him for when he heads back and our daughter is born.

I've decided to get the tags that can be engraved.  It's something that he can "discreetly" wear and have with him all the time.  Just something that makes him think of us.  There is a set of two.  On one I am having a message from me.  On the other I am doing a message from her.  What do you gals think of the tag idea?

As far as the messages go... I thought about putting a line from "our" song on it, then on the back just saying some lovey dovey line.  ;)

The one from her... I'm sure I can think of something, but any ideas?

Does this all sound ok?  Any suggestions?

TIA!!!!

Re: Opinions

  • What branch is he in?  I'm not sure about other branch uniform regulations, but I know in the Army, he won't be able to wear them in uniform.  You are allowed one additional religious medal on your ID tags.  I don't think they are a bad idea, I just wouldn't count on him being able to wear them.  He could keep them in a special place and look at them when he has a chance.

    Other things you may consider:

    an embroiderd blanket

    a digital picture frame

a scrap book that you can send him more pictures to add to as she grows

  • Loading the player...
  • You could have a photo etched onto a dogtag, and a message engraved on the other side- then he can wear that on his dogtag chain. Yes, regs say 1 religious item..but... :)
