I love country music. To me, there's nothing better than a cold beer on a hot summer day, sitting on the lawn at an outdoor ampitheater listening to a live concert. Ima looking at you, Kenny Chesney and every other performer listed on the Country Music Megaticket DH and I bought for this summer.

This will be my 4th Kenny concert. I'm pretty certain he didn't do his huge tour last summer because I was way too pregnant to go. Nice of him to think of me.

Add me to the list of country music lovers!! I Kenny Chesney, and he can be my husband only if he promises to keep his cowboy hat on at all times. Kthanxbai.
He has to have his hat on. Otherwise it's a no-go. I went to a Kenny/Keith Urban/Dierks Bently concert for my 16th birthday. It was awesome!

I don't understand the passion in general about baby clothes. They're just clothes. So what if a parent dresses their kid in fancy froufrou smocks, or Carter's onesies, or overalls, character clothing, or whatever. It's their prerogative.
I dress my kid in clothes I got for free from other people. Boo ya. I have only bought maybe 7 outfits myself. Everything else has been gifts. I've bought secondhand clothes from a flea market and I've bought overpriced clothing from zulily. They're just clothes! As long as he looks happy and is dressed appropriately for the weather and social situation, it doesn't matter!

Also, I roll my eyes a bit when people whine about smocked clothing and think they're going to "get" LCB. Like she invented it or something. Yeah, I'm sure she's really hurt and offended by your hatred of smocked dresses.

I agree wiith all of this, even the part about LCB.

I guess I'm on team rochella ::bump hump::

I love country music too!! I love Zac Brown Band and Alan Jackson. But I do have to say I really love me some old school country. I often turn on County Gold on TV and that stuff is OLD. Reminds me of childhood.

I agree with everything you said. When I was just a little girl, my mom would listen to Loretta Lynn records while she was cleaning the house.

My UO is I don't think anyone should get married before a year of knowing each other. You really do not know someone till after a year. We didn't get married til after 5 years and while I admit it was a little long, we certainly worked out all the kinks before getting hitched. WE NEVER FIGHT.NEVER.

I don't quite agree with this. You can also know someone for 10 years before getting married and still find out all kinds of stuff afterwards. I don't really think at the 1 year mark you suddenly "know" someone.
And while DH and I don't "fight", we do not get along every single minute of the day. I think it's very strange for a couple to never disagree on things or have different opinions-it makes me feel like one person in the relationship is completely submissive to the other.

I don't know what your definition of "fight" is though.

I agree with all of this. And - I think conflict can be good at times as long as you're able to have effective conversation and resolve the issues even if you agree to disagree.

I agree but it's kind of nice for me because my mom and MIL are obsessed with buying J things so I literally haven't bought her one outfit since before she was born.

Why on earth do you even care or let it bother you that much??? IMO LCB is not always "right" but she is intitled to her opinion on things and she is always honest. I am not a groupie by any means.

I've actually been on these boards a lot longer than I've had this name. I was a lurker whatever. I used to think LCB was stuck up mean whatever. However, I don't think that's the case now. You may disagree with her but, if everyone had a stick up their butt about everything they disagreed with on this board it would die.

She's obviously mellowed and doesn't start shvt anymore. So how about everyone just move on? Stop wasting space with silly call outs.

Someone admit that instead of using formula you give your baby swiss miss. That's something I'd like to read.

I guess my unpopular opinion is that I miss when LCB (and her "groupies") did start sh^t! At least then this board was lively and entertaining!

I don't really think she's mellowed. I think she's just busier now (like the rest of us).

I would just like to add to this ridiculously long thread that I love country music (except for the songs about religion and patriotism--cheap sentimentality IMO) and that the slurs against smocked clothing kind of hurt my butt. Not a lot, though. Just a smidgen.

I think it is ridiculous to vent about your husband on TB. I understand the occasional "gah DH pissed me off for a superficial reason" post.

But, I find it crazy to complain about your husband cursing you out, refusing to help with the baby, banning you from doing things, etc.

The only thing that comes out of posting things like that is making your husband look like an ass and making you look like a complete fool for putting up with it.

I also cannot stand people that opening talk trash about their spouse to IRL friends on a regular basis. Be a joint front in public or don't be married.

I realize no marriage is perfect but bad mouthing each other in public or on the internet is just asking for trouble, IMO.

I have another one. I find it incredibly annoying when moms judge other moms for bringing their child into public with a sleeper on or something that isn't considered an outfit. If I'm going to Walmart and my kid isn't getting out of the car seat, why should I put her in something "cute" just so she is ready for the day. She hangs out in sleepers at the house and I'm not really trying to impress anyone so I honestly could give a sh!t less. I do dress her up for other things like eating out, church, etc. though. Just not all the time.

I agree!! But I also think smocked dresses are cute. And I dress my son up sometimes. Its a pain though, so only when I feel like it!

West coast bumpy here, a little late to the party.

Although I love my son dearly, I find myself longing for a girl when I see cute outfits in stores, especially now that spring is here. And this includes smocked dresses.

I really like country music.

I love being a SAHM, but I am looking forward to getting back into the working world, which will be soon hopefully.

And I am also of the group that likes their MIL. She is awesome!

My UO is that I am sick of people trying to convert others to their UO. You have a UO. You stated it. Now leave the people that disagree with you alone.

Also I love smocked dresses but will not put my daughter in jeans, not even the ones I got as a gift.

I actually completely agree with everything you said. I don't understand being married to someone that you feel the need to constantly biitch about.

ETA: My UO is I love the Twilight series. And country music. And I think naming your child based on how many people in the area have that name is stupid.

Well, Im a half a day late and even forgot to press the quote button. JMS what you said about marriage = my thoughts excatly.

Also, royal wedding = tired of hearing about it.

& I knew DH for two months and he proposed. Got married two months later. A month after that he deployed for 7 months. When he got home I already got our house. Had another wedding a month after that. Been married for 5 years this June! There isnt a good way to do it. Its about how you treat each other and care for one another!

I guess I'm old-fashioned in this area but I felt it inappropriate for me to live with a guy I wasn't married too. I don't judge people who do move in together before marriage...I realize times have changed and that's pretty much the norm now. but, for me, personally, I couldn't have lived with any guy before marriage. My husband moved into my apartment the day after we got married. We are going on 5 years together, 4 married.
I think a marriage will last depending on how committed a couple is, not on how young/old they were when they got married, how often they fight or how long they knew each other before they tied the knot.

Let me just say that I am THRILLED that you ladies have your own opinions, it's nice to see a change.
but can you not be so passive aggressive and just own whoever you were talking about??

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say they were talking about LCB, but I am sure you already knew that.

I think it's funny you think I am "bragging".

But, I've come to learn that any statement I make is going to be interpreted as bragging. I can't answer a question about what stroller I've purchased when someone asks b/c it is me bragging. I can't talk about Kate's first vacation in a post about vacationing with your LO b/c it is bragging. I can't answer questions about where to find/ buy smocked dresses b/c it is bragging.

I'm starting to think that lots of you are way too sensitive when it comes to what other people have...

We are not to sensitive you just annoy us. Anyone else could say half the things you do and it wouldn't bother me.
