  • Shout Advanced. It works great for set in stains. Spray the stain and launder a few hours later or the next day. I find the longer you let it sit on the stain the better it works.

I worship the makers of this stuff. It's seriously the best stain remover on the market, and I know because I've tried EVERYTHING.

Oh, and after I stopped bf'ing I realized very quickly that formula stains really badly and it's a total PITA to get out of any type of clothing.

  • If you feed your child breastmilk- the poop stains come out if you wet the article of clothing and then put it in the sun for a few hours.

Lisa is right about formula stains- hate them.

  • Soak in a solution of Oxi-Clean free (powder) and water.  That has worked to get out 99% of our stains.

  • Yup I agree with the formula and soy is even worse! I use oxi clean and shout, my mil swears by dawn..ya the dish soap and it does work pretty well! The original blue kind

  • I use Dawn liquid soap. I just get the stain damp, rub some soap into it, then wash it after 5-10 minutes. I love it because I never have to buy an extra stain remover and it works awesome.

  • I always soak in OxiClean first, and then wash in the OxiClean too.

  • I accidentally used Resolve carpet cleaner once - and it did amazing, even got an old stain out!  Now, they have a clothing formula and I use that.

  • If it hasn't set yet, I keep a bar of ivory soap in laundry room and scrub at it a minute. If it has set, I use resolve High traffic carpet spray! Ivory works on formula like a charm! :)

  • Dreft stain remover spray.  I have not found anything else that works as well as this stuff does, even on massive diaper blow outs!  I keep a stick of it in my diaper bag too.  I also use it on DH's clothes because he works outside and comes home filthy!

Here's a tip - keep a bottle of Shout or whatever stain remover you want to use hangning on on LO's laundry hamper in their room. Spray the item before you drop it in the hamper then, it will be ready to go when you do your wash later, whenever that is.

I do this, but I just have a Shout stick in his room.  Great advice!!

  • I'm a huge fan of the OxiClean Max Force gel stick. It's the only thing that I've found that gets grease stains out of her clothes on the first try.

  • OxyClean Laundry Stain Remover...it works on dried in stains that have been sitting around for days (so you don't have to worry about soaking the stained item or washing it right away)...I have yet to meet a stain that it didn't get out.
