Peeling skin?

oh my gosh, my lo's skin is peeling soooo bad. Mostly on his face/head. I feel bad trying to peel it off but it looks so bad. I try cream but of course that isnt going to stop it. how long is this going to last? He is almost a month old.

    My LO had it the first week and a half of her life. It was all over her hands, feet and face. Its definitelt gone away now. Pedi said its just her shedding her newborn skin and to not be concerned.

    Landon's has been this way for about 3 weeks now. His ears are peeling now too. I've been putting vasoline on it, but it's not helping.

    It's called cradle cap and can last up to 6 months I think. I am going to ask the pedi next week at his 2 month (!) appt.

    I googled and found some things...

    Baby oil, olive oil, etc. You can brush it lightly with a baby brush or soft toothbrush. You can also buy cradle cap stuff at the store.

    I'm not sure if this is what you mean but DS has really dry skin too, especially on his face. I wouldn't say it's peeling, though, more like flaking. I've been using baby lotion on him, which seems to help.

    Chloe has this on her face, too. Some moms on the 0-3 board recommended baby Aquaphor - I got some last week and apply once or twice a day and it helps.

    LO had peeling skin too. It peaked around 3wks old. Just keep moisturizing and it will get better. You can try a humidifier in the bedroom.

    LO has cradle cap.  Pedi suggested rubbing baby oil on his scalp and massaging it and also brushing a lot. 

    I use CJ's Buttercream.  We have a lot of it, because it's CD friendly, and I love the scents.  It works great!

    This has been working wonders on my LOs skin!!! I was using Johnsons products and she just kept peeling, I haven't noticed any bad peeling since I picked this up!

    aquaphor is wonderfull stuff. like one of the pps saidi use it right after we have bath time and she isnt flakey anymore i used it with my niece and nephew too and t worked wonders for them for the scalp usr baby oil for sure. i had to and it worked really well hth
