My DD is typically eating every 3 hours at night. Which meant 2 hour blocks of sleep for me (since it took about an hour to feed her and get her back down). Starting this past weekend, she is now eating for about 90 minutes so I get only about an hour of sleep each block by the time she is back to sleep. Is there any way to help her be a more efficient eater?

Re: Slow eater - how to speed up?
DD1 born 5/24/10.
Missed M/C at 14 wks Feb 2012.
DD2 born 5/14/13.
Missed M/C at 9 wks July 2015.
I don't know of anyway to train them to be more efficient, it just happens. Looking back, it feels like all I ever did for 2 months was nurse, change poopy diapers and hold a sleeping baby. (which I loved every minute of and miss very much) I also remember the 2 hour stretch of sleep being typical and thinking I'd never survive but we pulled through and he naturally went longer between feedings at night and then eventually during the day too. It can be a slow process...
DS used to take 90 min; now he takes about 10.
If she falls asleep eating, you need to wake her: strip her to the diaper, blow on her, tickle her, splash water on her. But if she's awake and just slow there is nothing you can do. She will speed up eventually. DS was still 90 min per feeding at 4 wks.
In the meantime, make sure YOU sleep during the day as much as possible b/c you'll only get about 3-4 hrs at night otherwise.
Youb can also try breast compressions -- basically squeeze the milk into her mouth while she feeds. I always did this with DS.
