I'm one of the few who walked away from pregnancy with minimal battle marks. No stretch marks on my tummy and I'm right at my pre-pregnancy weight with no evidence I even had a baby.

Do you want a freaking cookie?

Well, that's a pretty douchy comment.  Apparently only people who have road maps on their belly and have lots of weight to lose were 'allowed' to post here.

I have zero stretch marks as well, and am 5 lbs from my pp weight w/ DD#1.  I've been working hard to lose the weight, so yeah, I'm getting to be pretty happy w/ my pp body.  Is that a bad thing?

As I explained above, it was the tone of that poster that I rolled my eyes at. I didn't get stretch marks either. No on said it was a bad thing.

That post wasn't boastful.  This is boastful:

"I must just be made for baby making, because I have no stretch marks, and my body bounced right back.  Sorry about all you other people, but go me!  I think we'll TTC soon because pregnancy and recovery are SO easy!"

    See the difference?

How about we all just get along? Seriously....

Mucho Kudos to EVERYONE who is posting their pictures on this post. We are who we are because of our children. If some people want to complain, let them. If some people want to boast, let them. We are all here to help those who are seeking encouragement, and we are all here to congratulate those who have achieved their goal.

Its hump day people....half way through the week...so lets all play nice and be happy, because we all have beautiful children to be thankful for!!!!!!! :)

ew, i can't believe how rude some of you people are being.  i think it's great that there are a few people who came out relatively unharmed (so to speak) and i assume that's what we all wish for, regardless of whether it happens or not.

i think it's really distasteful for people to hate on anyone's experience, including the people who aren't struggling with a frustrating PP body.

Oh calm down. I seriously doubt anyone took our teasing seriously and if they did they can console themselves by looking in the mirror while us fatties dab our jealous tears with loose skin.

I PPH this thread, mostly for your commentary.

I came through this pregnancy scathed.  Oh yes.  But hey, I don't mind the stretchies & jelly belly now that my giant hemmies are gone.

Well guys, for me, this is the only angle that matters.  I still got some stretch marks, smooshy skin, fat, etc - but I was fat before I got pregnant, and I'm currently at my lowest weight in years, thanks to hard work, milk-soy protein intolerance, and breastfeeding.

My stomach is still in the worst shape of its life, but I am comfortable enough to wear shorts - shorts! - this summer, and that makes my damn day.  I'm just working on losing weight right now - I will work on toning when I've reached my goal weight.

So this may not be impressive for the former gymnasts, but it's impressive for someone who has dealt with being overweight her entire life, and even bouts of bulimia (which, by the way, didn't even come close to helping me overcome my weight problem) and can finally feel healthy after pregnancy wreaked hell on my body.  I don't even care that my stomach looks like crap!

Did I miss something in my original post?? "Not impressive for former gymnasts?"

Oh, I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings!  Obviously there's some skinny, great-looking women on this board and that's great - but my fitness goals are very different - so we should ALL be proud of ourselves regardless!  One of the women with totally flat abs said she was a former gymnast and she looked phenomenal!   I don't remember her s/n, but I'm just saying, some people might look my pic and think it's gross - but I don't feel that way!

It was me. I was the former gymnast. Like I said earlier, we are all different and have different goals. I worked my butt off for 15 years in competitive gymnastics...so my goal was to get back to that body after my baby that I had worked so hard for. I am almost there, but not quite. You look amazing....and if someone comes on here and says you look gross...I'll kick some ass. EVERYONE posting on here looks amazing. C'mon people we all just had babies!!!!!!

  • What Lovey posted came off very "I didn't have to do anything and I look awesome", which personally, just makes me feel like crap because my body didn't do that. It was not encouraging at all. If I was lucky enough to be in that position, I would never post something like that in a thread where ladies may (or may not) be struggling with how they look and are now brave enough to share that.

Nadine posting was different. She worked for what she has, and to me, it's very inspiring/motivating, what have you. I know that I will never, ever look like that, but I never felt like she thought she was better than anyone else in this thread. She even is commenting and trying to encourage others. You rock, Nadine!

IMO, there's a huge difference between the two. If you did not struggle with PP weight loss or stretch marks, realize that you are very lucky. Not everyone is. You can still be proud of it without making others feel bad (like Nadine did). And really, people IRL will notice and you will get the credit/comments/whatever you want or deserve. So, why flaunt it to people who may be struggling, really, just for the sake of flaunting it? (no I'm not saying everyone is struggling, but I know that I am)

FTR, I think everyone looks fantastic Cool

I think it's perfectly fine to be proud of your body for losing the weight. I think it's perfectly fine to be proud of your body if you haven't lost the weight. But the phrase "road map" is rather offensive. Stretch marks are a part of pregnancy that can't be avoided in most cases. The fact that you escaped them doesn't mean you should insult others who didn't.

    Signed,
A chick who didn't get stretch marks either.

eh, the veins on my boobs could double for a AAA trip planner.  They do, indeed look like a road map.  I don't think calling them, or stretch marks, that it is insulting at all.  It is a lighthearted term for something that often happens w/ pregnancy.  As with many things w/ pregnancy, you can't control it, so just roll with it, you know?

Did I say ANYTHING in my OP that said "Please only post if you have stretchmarks and haven't lost the baby weight"? ...I didn't think so.

I think that all of the women who posted pictures are beautiful, skinny or bigger. This thread was made because I was feeling a little down lately about MY body. Then I started to realize that I made two beautiful little babies in this body and I should be proud. This thread was not about how many cookies someone did or didn't eat. I thought maybe it could help other women see that they are not alone.

All of the cattiness that came from this thread is bull$hit (i'm not referring to the jokes/sarcasm-only the b!tchiness). This was supposed to be a nice and uplifting thread. If you want to be catty, get out of my thread and go post elsewhere, please. :)

  • I'll play. I gained almost 75lbs while pregnant and have 30 more to lose. I may not have gotten stretch marks but I certainly have some saggy skin.  It has been a struggle being 36 trying to lose this weight. I walk 4 miles a day. I am not a "skinny" girl (italian with big booty and hips) by nature so getting the weight off has been a chore. My body will never be the same but I believe with some hard work I can get to my comfortable weight and likely do it all over again soon!

  • Okay, my DS is older than 6 months I just wanted to say all you ladies look fabulous!!  :)

And for the ladies who got defensive about the ladies giving someone a hard time for gloating, I think the issue was she just stated how awesome she looks.  She didn't post a pic saying I worked hard, no, yay this is what I look like!  Nothing.  It was a simple, yeah, everything on me looks great PP, take that.

Because if you notice every single woman, no matter how big or how small, how fluffy or how thin, who posted a pic got a "wow, good job!"  "you look awesome"  "I'm super jealous of you!" comment.

But my clothes are tighter, and I'm much bigger than I used to be. I shifted BIG TIME. Sometimes us bigger girls are just at a disadvantage to begin with lol

  • I am not brave enough, I am having a hard enough time struggling with staying in recovery from my eating disorder.  Rationally I know my stomach isn't that bad, but in my head it's awful.  I was at a really good weight pp, I got there in a healthy way for the first time since high school and I was finally feeling comfortable with my body.  I gained 50 lbs during my pregnancy I was told 40 would be fine, I was really swollen at the end and bed rest didn't help.  With a really bad back exercise is hard for me so getting back down there has been a real difficult task.

Everyone has there own level of comfort and to some it may seem like they have the perfect body but they think it's terrible.  I think the judgments on both sides are pretty sh!tty.
