OB/GYN recs?

Hey, I know there was a previous post about reccommending your ob/gyn in the Omaha area, but I was wondering if there were any more suggestions on good ob/gyns in the area.  My DH and I are just starting to TTC and I just recently switched insurance so I no longer have to be seen at the Millitary Treatment Facility, so I need some recs!  I don't have a preference whether they are Methodist or Alegent; I just want a good doctor!

Also, any NO recs would be appreciated too!

Re: OB/GYN recs?

  • I love the OBs at Methodist.  I go to Dr. Martin, but I also love Dr. Bassett, and I've heard great things about Dr. Gernhart.

  • Doctor Paige Berryman is AWESOME! she is methodist
  • I see Erin Evans and I LOOOOOVE her!! I switched to Dr. Evans after I got tired of my last OBGYN making me feel like scum.

Dr. Evans works primarily out of Lakeside but she is at the Alegent clinic on 84th & Center a few times per week. That's where I see her at.

Dr Evans is really good about taking the time to answer your questions, to explain what it is she is going to do, and listening to YOU. Also, although she is willing to give you ideas on how to manage your weight, she doesn't give you a lot of grief, which is such a relief! If you are a big woman like me you know EXACTLY what I am talking about when I say that I actually ENJOY going to my visits now.

  • Dr. Mark Carlson at Methodist.  After an awful experience with another ob/gyn he took almost 45 min to sit down with me and talk to me about my situation.  He also calls me back personally with any questions that I have which is huge since we used Clomid to conceive.  He is so nice:)
  • Methodist Women's Center, i used to see Dr Martin, He's really good, but decided I would like a female Dr and started going to Dr Gernhart.  She has a great sense of humor so it makes the appts a little enjoyable.
  • curious, who DID you have at lakeside?

  • Dr. Mark Carlson is great.  He is at the Methodist Women's Center which I highly recommend. :)
  • I would recommend the midwives at either Bellevue Medical Center or UNMC. They have a much lower cesarean rate than any OB in town and spend much more time w/ you during your pregnancy and during your labor than any OB I've ever met.
