Babies: 0 - 3 Months

moms of newborns...

anyone's "area" still ache?  my son (my second) is almost 4 weeks old and I still have some achiness down there and my bum.  Could be because I have been more active chasing around a 2 year old.  Also, anyone's bellies feel a little weird like the uterus is going back to size?  thanks

Re: moms of newborns...

  • Yes, the more babies you have the worse the 'after' pain is.

  • My recovery was actually faster with my second, but the pain itself was worse. My second baby was over a pound smaller than my first, though. So, my first I was horribly sore in my "area" for almost eight weeks. With my second, it was only a few days. But, uterine contractions after my second were extremely painful and I don't even remember having them with my first.
  • My achiness "down there" and in my bum-area is still there, worse after a lot of activity, long ride in the car, or a bowel movement.
  • Mine was really achy to for a few weeks, and then I passed a huge clot (Sorry TMI) and then it went away, I think I was having a lot of pressure from that thing or something!

Yes.  It almost feels like I rode a bike for too long.  Plus I still have a little stress incontinence.  I'm telling you, the recovery is 1000x worse than the delivery a NO ONE WARNS US!!!

AMEN, sister. Delivery, courtesy of the epi, was FINE.

NOW though, I feel like my hoo-ha has a severe sunburn and someone is stabbing it with a knife. Sitting down is a b!tch....

  • I'm more achy this time, but my recovery has been a million times easier than it was with my first.  They had to use a vacuum with my son and I was able to avoid that this time, which made a world of difference.  I still ache and feel my stomach muscles and back pain more, but overall, I feel much better than I did after having DS.
