Toddlers: 24 Months+

can you tell me about nightmares?

DD woke up crying last night and seemed shaky and really scared when we went in her room. Wanted nothing to do with her bed, had a bear hug aroung my neck and didn't want to let go, and ended up sleeping with me while DH slept on the couch. I felt really bad and didn't know what to do for her. A few times during the night she would cry a little and kick her feet, almost like she was trying to kick blankets off, but she was still sleeping through it.

Any ideas?

I should also mention that when I ask if something scared her she shakes her head yes, but can't tell me what it was

Re: can you tell me about nightmares?

  • Toddlers have nightmares, but aren't usually able to express their feelings about them.  When DD is really upset, I rock her for awhile until she seems better, then put her back to bed.  Luckily, they are few and far between.

She did wake up at 5 this morning screaming, "Don't WANT to go to Steak 'N Shake!"  LOL.  Muct have been some nightmare.
