Way tmi, but I have what DD had a few days ago. Big throwing up episode and issues with the other end too. Do I need to call my OB or anything? Just wanted to make sure I'm not missing something.
Thanks
ETA: If you talked to a doctor about having a stomach virus during pgcy did they tell you if it was any worse than say having a cold or other virus so long as you're not dehydrated?
Re: help - anyone have a stomach virus during pgcy??
The queasiness only came about three hours ago and the other stuff started happening only about 30 mins ago. I feel fine now, but I'm not convinced it's over. I feel like I could definitely keep fluids down, but we'll see.
It very well may not be over.
You know your body best, so just take care of you and if you feel you need to call, do. I hope it's not too bad for you!
Me! I had that same thing almost 3 weeks ago, plus a fever. It was BAD. I felt as physically ill as I have ever have before in my life (and I've actually had a similar bug a few years back). With being pregnant, all of your body's back-up resources will go to the baby, which is good for baby and bad for you.
I was told to not eat/drink anything for 4 hours, then to start trying clear liquids again. It was HARD. By hour 3, I didn't care if it made me puke, I just wanted something to drink. But, I was puking right up to the 3:30 mark. At 4 hours, we started to try some ice chips. Did that for a half hour or so, then did sips of water. After about an hour, moved to Gatorade (you do need that electrolyte balance). I also had a fever. The vomiting itself lasted approx 12 hrs, and I wasn't able to eat until the next day. As far as being dehydrated, I was told that if I wasn't peeing at least every 2 hours or so, I should go to the ER for fluids. I managed to escape that, but just barely. Also, if I couldn't keep down fluids after the 4 hour mark.
It took about 4 days before I started feeling like myself again. It really was bad. And, actually, I burst a ton of blood vessels in my eyes and still have some pooled blood. I hope it doesn't hit you as hard and you feel better quickly!
This. Except I had c-diff which I would not wish on my worst enemy!
