Oh also I think I haven't gained any because I am probably losing muscle weight, since working out is not an option with m/s.

I gained 8 lbs and I am 11 weeks. No, I was not underweight before. I have been eating healthy foods, but I have been eating a LOT of them! It was the only thing to help the nausea.
Up by 3 at my last appointment... I was bloated that day, so who knows? I'll find out more at this next appointment. (BTW, that's up 3 from November - my first midwife appointment to remove that pesky IUD, up 5 from January - my last pre-pregnancy weigh-in on a scale at my MIL's house ... I have lovely fluctuating weight...)
Am I the only one who really has no clue how much weight she has gained, and doesn't care about it?
I'm not using pregnancy as an excuse to beast out, but seriously, if there's one time in your life to not have to worry about an extra few pounds, it's RIGHT NOW.
July 20th, 2012: Never forget the day the fb douchebags tried so hard, but ultimately failed. Viva la October 2011! Yeah, I called you douchebags.
BFP 1/18/11, EDD 10/1/11. Born at 37w5d on 9/15/11.
I am not so much worried about gaining it. I fear having to get rid of it all after the baby! I was always a chubby kid growing up. Upon graduating college (getting a job, not drinking beer every night, and eating like a college kid...) I lost nearly 30 pounds. I just don't want to go back to that weight....
in the morning, I am up 2-3 lbs, at night when I am super bloated, I am up 5-6 lbs up.
yes, I am serious.
I think most people are heavier in the evenings than in the mornings. That was true for me pre-pregnancy as well... at least 2-3 pound difference. Now that I'm pregnant, I'm sure the discrepancy is even more! I know that at least I look bigger in the evenings - I don't really weigh myself any more.
I don't really know what my starting weight was, as I wasn't paying attention and my first doctor's appt wasn't until 8 weeks. Since that weigh in, I'm still at the same weight on my home scale, but I have always found that it's a little more forgiving than the ones at the dr office so I'll bet I'm up a couple pounds.
I had gained 4 lbs at my last doctor's appointment. However I feel like I am up about 10 lbs. I feel soooo big, and I hate it. I know I shouldn't worry about it because I am pregnant, etc. But it doesn't feel like I'm gaining baby weight, it just feels like I'm eating too many donuts. I'm not really showing at all in my stomach, just a pooch and the rest of the four pounds has gone to my arms and my face..BOO!
I have gained one pound (I'm 12 weeks 5 days). I'm surprised it isn't more but I think I've just lost muscle mass from not running/practicing hot yoga.
At my first appointment, I feel like I was super bloated because my weight was way more than it normally is (like 4lbs more!). Then I went to my PCM to talk about my medications and I was down 2lbs from the initial appointment. Last week, I was back down to my normal weight. He didn't say anything to me at all about my weight but I feel like at 12 weeks (tomorrow), i should have a teeny tiny bit of weight that isn't from me being bloated.
I have lost 12lbs and gained half a pound back between my last two appointments - which means that I am still down 11.5 and my doctor wasn't exactly concerned about it, but also not really happy. So I have been told to beef up a little.
In general, I am not too conerned about weight as long as baby is happy and healthy, everything is fine. I try to gain a bit and if it ends up hanging around for a while after baby is born, then so be it.
In all honesty, I've gained 20 pounds in the last 13 weeks....I'm small to begin with (less then 5 feet tall) so there's not really anywhere for the baby to go but out...my OB hasn't said anything to me about my weight. my mom is an RN, and I'm visiting her for the first time since becoming PG, and she said I'm fine...since I'm small I'm going to look bigger faster...I don't look (or feel) fat...just pregnant
I'm down 5lbs so far. Dr.'s not concerned. Same thing happened with my DD as well. I gained 17lbs total with her, so hopefully I'm on the same track again!
SAHM to the sweetest little girl and boy... I love my job!
I'm +/- 1 lb depending on the day and at 14-14.5w.
I spoke with my Dr at my last appt about weight gain. Because I'm petite to begin with, she suggested that I gain 25lbs and suggests a gain of 2-3 lbs each appt from here on out. We'll see how that goes
I weigh the same as when I became pregnant (not on purpose...the nausea really cut down my appetite). I am sure that will change soon, but I am glad I haven't gained yet because I was a little overweight to begin with. I was worried that I might gain too much, but I think I am on the right track so far. Here's hoping!
I'm up about 3-4lbs I think per my scale. Not sure what's up at the dr.'s office... the print out they gave me of my vitals at my last appt was 2lb higher than what it said on their scale! jerks. no one has said anything to me about my weight. during my last pg my midwife said that anything i gain over 40lbs is between me and my wardrobe. LOL!

I lost 20 pounds within the first 8 weeks from severe all day sickness. I have yet to gain a pound back. I try to eat as much as I can, but most of it comes right back up. My OB said to not beat myself up about it & always take my vitamins (which I do). Once the m/s goes away he said I will make up for it.
I've gained 13.5 pounds and I am 14 1/2 weeks. And it freaks me out. I am exercising. I ride my bike to/from work, play tennis 1 hour a week and take classes 2x/week.
I quit smoking which might explain the weight gain a bit, but I am hoping that I just gained early and it will even out. (fingers crossed!)

I gained 1.5 pounds by week 11. My next appointment is today and I know I gained another 1.5 pounds or so and I am worried.. I started out 5'2 and 123 pounds and my doctor said I should only gain 15 pounds!! According to her, I only have 12 more to go. It is unfair. I am well within my healthy BMI. I resent that she has me so preoccupied by my weight. I am a nervous wreck to get weighed in. I don't want her to judge me. I am seriously considering switching OB's. I see someone else form the practice today... I hope she will look at it more realistically and tell me 25 is more appropriate.
I work out 6 days a week and eat when I am hungry. I haven't changed anything (except the intensity of my workouts). My boobs have gone up two sizes and my stomach has popped but I have no weight gain anywhere else. I hate that this is even a concern. It is hard enough to let go and allow yourself to gain weight, but when a doctor sets unrealistic limits.. it is almost impossible to shake.
I am up 5 pounds as of this morning and am a few days shy of 14 weeks. I was surprised that my doctor told me not to gain any weight in first tri since my starting BMI was on the lower side of normal range. But carbs were the only thing that cut the nausea and allowed me to eat healthy foods, so I don't really care. I am going to wait until worrying about the weight until after the baby is born, as long as it doesn't go crazy.

Me! Though I will admit I'm scared to see what happens when I get on the scale next Dr.'s appt. I weigh more right now then I ever have (thanks to the treatments~n~crap) so to see my weight this high is crazy... but I'm not worried while pregnant. Just means I will work harder to lose it when all is said and done
*raises both hands* Me! Me!
I'll even raise you one - I stare at the wall when they weigh me at the doctor's office instead of looking at the number. I figure my doctor will say something to me if something is awry. So, I have no idea what I weigh right now. I started off fine, so I figure I'll go back to being fine.

At my last appointment (11.5 weeks) I had gained 3 pounds. I go back to the doctor next week and am nervous about getting on the scale...
Anyone want to share their weight gain so far?
You're "supposed" to gain 4 pounds in the first trimester, so 3 pounds at 11.5 weeks sounds about on track to me. Last time I weighed which was last week, I had gained 2.5 pounds. I'm sure I'll get to 4 in the 1st tri.

I've lost about 6 pounds since I found out I was pregnant... I don't know how because I eat like a pig 24/7!!! I have still been exercising on my elliptical and trying to walk on my lunch breaks. My stomach is getting bigger so I must be losing it other places. I go for my 12 week appt today, so we shall see what I weigh in at this time!

I think 15 lbs is very unreasonable for you! You are well within you BMI so I would say 25-30 is a good number for you! Im not sure what your Drs reasoning is to gain such a small amount.

Why are we so preoccupied with our weight? (Me included!) As a pp said above, this is the one time it's okay for us to gain weight. Anyway, I gained 4 pounds by the end of first tri and so far it looks like I'm gaining close to 1 pound per week. So as of today, I'm up about 6.5 pounds.
My OB told me to stop looking at the scale and just be healthy. She would be more concerned if I didn't gain enough weight because that could impact the baby. I'm 5'0" and started at a healthy BMI so my OB expects I'll gain about 25 pounds total.

At 15 weeks I'm 8 lbs. up from my original weight. My last appointment was two weeks ago and the nurse on duty chewed me out for being overweight! I was pissed but I couldn't help taking it to heart, so I've been avoiding junk food like crazy since then. I didn't have m/s so didn't experience any initial weight loss.
Then yesterday this occurred to me: I know what day I conceived, but the doctor never asked and is instead calculating from the first day of my last cycle. I have a short cycle (24 days) and actually conceived on the 9th day of my cycle -- doesn't this make my baby a whole week older than what the doctor is saying? I was also told that it was on the big side, which baffled me because my hubby and I are both small. If I'm actually 16 weeks along that would make baby on the SMALL side, which makes a lot more sense!
Hmmm, think I may repost this separately to get some more opinions.
