Im currently 31 weeks pg and both babies are head down

so Im hoping for a vaginal delivery but I was just wondering what kind of deliveries other MoMs on this board had.... both my DD1 (pushed 7 times) and DD2 (pushed 3 times) were vaginal births so my biggest fear is a C-Section or probably even worse a Double Whammy... please share
Re: Did you have a Vaginal Birth, C-Section or Double Whammy?
I had an emergency c-section due to pre-e and my liver and kidneys deciding to stop working...under general anesthesia and a vertical incision to boot - both occur less than 10% of all deliveries so my own special "double whammy" if you will...
Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly!
Both my guys were head down so I had a vag.
C-section, Baby A was breech, Baby B was transverse and he had to remove a 14 centimeter size cyst off of my right ovary.
I would do a c-section all over again any day, every day. I really enjoyed the recovery much better than my vaginal delivery. BUT, DS1 was 10lbs 12oz and that made everything hurt like crazy down there and I couldn't sit normal for 2 weeks.
I delivered vaginally.
Nationally, twin deliveries are about half c-section, half vaginal. Double whammies are actually pretty rare.
I really hope the lady with the birth story below doesn't read this, but THAT is why I loved having a scheduled c/s. (Both mine were breech.) I had to read most of that between my fingers.
IMO, most people that had horrible c/s recoveries labored forever first. My scheduled c/s was calm, easy, quick, and drama free. 1000% the way to go for me!
I was TERRIFIED of a C-section.
My water broke at 35 weeks and babies were in PERFECT position.... then my lab work came back and showed I had pre-e and HELPS and needed the babies out ASAP (and a plattlette transfusion). As soon as the Dr turned to leave the room I just cried.
My C-section recovery was great though. By day 5 I was taking maybe one painkiller a day- if that.
I had a scheduled c-section because of previous uterine surgeries. I would have needed one anyway since Baby A was breech and Baby B was transverse.

I know I always quote you on this, but I totally agree with your sentiments on a c-section. I had 2 breech babies and it was a super easy, low key, drama free procedure. I think my recovery was easier than my friend with a singleton. I hosted Thanksgiving 2 weeks after they were born.
I am having a c-section on Thursday. It's what we've planned all along, then for the longest time Baby B was breech. Although Baby B has managed to turn now his/her position isn't great and I REALLY don't want a vaginal birth AND a c-section so we aren't taking any chances.
My doctor/hospital also won't let me go past 38 weeks, so unless I would go into labor before Thursday, I would have to be induced on Thursday, which is also something I'd rather not have to go through.
This was the same for me.

Double whammy here!
I went into my pregnancy set on a natural vaginal delivery, then we found out it was twins and I still wanted to labor as long as possible naturally and have a vaginal delivery. From 8 weeks on my baby B was breech, but all the docs in my practice agreed to do a breech extraction should the need arise. My water broke at 32 weeks and A was still head down and B was still breech. The doctor recommended a C section since they were premature, but I still wanted to try vaginal.
So baby A was born vaginally in 3 pushes and baby B was actually successfully turned in an external version in the operating room. But, baby B's cord descended below her head and C-section it was.
Honestly, recovery from both wasn't that bad. I was so scared of the double whammy, but recovery was the last thing on my mind with babies in the NICU. I barely even felt the vaginal recovery part (and I had an episiotomy) and the C section was only bad the first 12 hours. By the time I was released I was fine and only still taking the painkillers because of how hard I was pushing myself to be in the NICU all day.
Would I have preferred vaginal? Yes, but it is what it is and I got healthy babies. I wouldn't willingly schedule a c-section even though it wasn't bad and hope to have a VBAC if we have more babies down the road.
