Introduction

I guess I didn't realize there was a preemie board or maybe I just wasn't looking for it.

Here is a brief overview of our story:

I went in to pre-term labor on 3/17 at 21w5d and was air-lifted to a hospital 2 hours from my home. I was started on mag sulf and antibiotics and put in trendelenberg and was on strict bedrest. I had a bulging bag of waters in my vaginal canal and was 3 cm dilated. A week later at 22w5d my water broke. I was given bathroom priveledges and my bed was flattened to a normal position. At 22w6d I received my first betamethasone shot. The next day at 23 weeks I received the second dose of betamethasone. At 23w1d my mag sulf was shut off. At 12am on 3/29 (23w3d) I went in to active labor and had my daughter Addyson at 1:30am. She weighed in at 1lb 1.6oz and 11inches long. She ended up having an infection and that is why I went in to labor. Tomorrow she will be 2 weeks old. Today she weighs 1lb 4oz and is fighting like crazy. My original due date was July 23rd.

You never imagine you will end up in the NICU but I'm glad she came when she did or we might not have her. I'm am totally and completely in love with her. I hope I can be a regular member of this board. I look forward to getting to know you ladies.

    Congratulations on the Birth of your daughter. I'm sorry that your joining our board, but these ladies are so wonderful and can answer almost any question. You and your little one will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us updated.

    I know I didn't post much on July board but I remember your story. I actually just moved over here myself on Saturday. Our Emily decided she was ready to come into the world come hell or high water. My membranes were also bulging but trendelberg didn't work for me bc my contractions were too close. I am so glad your daughter is doing well. T&Ps to you.

    Welcome to our board.  I will be keeping your DD in my thoughts and prayers.  This board is great, and I posted on it so many times during our NICU stay.  NICU is so hard and stressful. 

    Remember, each day...is 1 day closer to coming home.

    Welcome and Congrats on your little fighter! The NICU rollercoaster is difficult but I never fail to be amazed at the strength of our preemies! My son was born 23w5d and is doing great now (at 9 months). I'll be thinking about your little girl!
