I know they recently switched the formula, and it is now made with a different type of oil, I believe sesame oil (don't hold me to that). Anyway, my last three shots was with the new formula. Last Wednesday was my 3rd shot, afterwards I broke out in weird hives on my butt, however it was the opposite cheek. As of today, I still have a huge, itchy hive so I called my doctors office. The practicioner is going to talk to my doctor about it, but she said that she recalls someone else saying the same thing. I am just curious if anyone else had something similar happen. It is odd to me that it is the opposite cheek of the shot, but also coincidental that it occurred the same day as my shot.
Re: For those of you getting progesterone shots
ok...something really similar happened to me. I got a new refill 3 weeks ago....and the first shot of that one...i noticed i had a huge lump in my butt like in the muscle where the shot went (like a big gumball was in the muscle!). i thought it was just a fluke. until the next week i had the same thing! and they itched soooo bad. i talked to my nurse about it - and she said that it was likely just a reaction to the "new oils" they are using for it!
ugh.. it sounds like this is the case for you - just a different reaction! i took my last shot friday. so glad i'm done with those!!!!
I'm so relieved you posted this. I was going to call the dr about it as well. Also in the opposite cheek I have a lump where the shot when in and it totally itches. I'm surprised it hasn't gone down at all. I'm worried because my shot day is tomorrow and it's supposed to be in that cheek...but I guess I can use the other one again.
Does anyone know if this goes away (we'll get used to it) or if we're allergic?
So far I have not experienced this yet but please let us know what your doctor says encase it does happen.
Thx!
