We must remember to always check what is given to our child/ren....This is super scary.
"15-month-old was hospitalized after a behind-the-bar mix-up at a Michigan Applebee's restaurant that left the toddler sipping alcohol instead of apple juice."

Re: Applebees serves Margarita to toddler
Man, I kind of wish Applebee's would serve me a margarita right now...
ugh, I made the mistake of reading the comments. People disgust me
This is what I thought as well when I first heard about it this morning, I worked in one of these chain restaurants and it was fairly common for waiters to mix drinks in kids cups to sip on while they were working. But the article states that the entire container was labeled Apple Juice but had mix in it....
Oh, honestly I didn't read the article, someone told me about it this morning. That was the first thing that came to mind. I also worked in a chain and like you said, this happened often.
This doesn't add up to me.
Why would the bartender put margarita mix in a sippy cup. Why would margarita mix be in a apple juice bottle. Why would a mix have alcohol in it (usually the only alcohol in a margarita is tequila). Why would the baby drink it, I didn't have a taste for lime when I was young.
Now I'm gonna have to make DH sample the baby's drinks every time we go out to restaurants.
What a scary mix-up.
I definitely don't check or sample everything my child is served though.

Yeah I found myself asking that question.
Alright, well I just googled the ABC News Video on this https://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/applebees-serves-toddler-stiff-drink-13346644
Apparently Applebee's had this same mix-up in 2006 and also 2007...the 2007 incident was also margarita mix {with alcohol in it} that was supposed to be apple juice!
Not that we had plans to eat at Applebee's anytime soon, but this does encourage me to BYOS-bring your own sippy, for DS!

Maybe it was in a kid's cup - the plastic ones with lids that are opaque.
Still a ridiculous "mix up".
