Okay my little one is 3 weeks old. I pump and supplement with formula. Wendsday we started giving him more, so I have to supplement more often because my supply isnt enough for him. Thursday he only pooed twice, he usually goes 3-5 times a day. Friday he didnt go at all and he hasnt gone today yet. We called the dr this morning and she said not to worry his system may be changing, etc. I'm still worried. She said we can give him water to help him go. We gave him water at 245 and its not 645 and still no poop. I tried bike legs, rubbing his belly, however he doesnt seem in distress and his belly doesnt seem hard. I am overreacting? Ughhh. Should I switch formulas?

Re: Poop question..
How much tummy time are you doing? That always helps digestion (according to my pedi).
If he's happy and your doctor is happy, it should be fine.

I am in a very similar situation to you: my LO is also three weeks old and on breastmilk supplemented with formula. She will poop regularly for days and then all of a sudden go a day or two without going. Though she grunts and works extra hard at pooping on those days, she doesn't seem to be upset by it. I was worried at first, but the poop eventually always comes and I figure if she's not upset, why should I be. I would only worry or resort to methods of making her poop if she is clearly upset or in discomfort.
