hospital internet access

Does your hospital have wireless internet access?  The maternity ward at my hospital is relatively new and very nice but I was very disappointed to find out during the tour that they don't have internet access.  I mean, I guess you don't really need it during labor, but then you have to wait to send out pics and updates until after you get home/I'm guessing I would have a moment of free time to check my email after the birth.  I thought internet access would be standard in this day and age...

    Just saying, I'm posting this from my laptop in L&D. If you have a labor like mine's been going (i've been here since 3 am, hardly any progress) bring some form of entertainment, in my case, my laptop. That does surprise me that your hospital doesn't offer wi-fi.

    We have free wireless everywhere in the hospital.

    Mine doesn't- they actually have cell access blocked and you need to go outside to place phonecalls. It's my biggest complaint about the hospital we're delivering at, but then again, I visited a friend after her delivery at another hospital and the girl she was sharing a recovery room with was jabbering on the phone the whole time and it would have seriously pissed me off if I had to deal with that all day!

    Yes, my hospital had free wifi. I posted updates here & on FB less than 3 hours after they were born.

    Yes our hospital has free internet access.  However, I took my laptop and was at the hospital for 5 nights/6 days and never once used it.  Then again we both have iphones so I did hop on from it.

    Mine did however only on the 2nd floor (which just so happens to be the same floor as l&d) During labor i was able to do my online homework and had no problems updating my labor buddies... (my mom couldn't resist taking this picture of me doing so)
