DS had a blotchy red rash on his back last week and that cleared up. Now he has it on two places on his chest. No different lotions, foods, clothes or bath washes. Any ideas?!
Does it get worse when he has a bath/it gets wet (redder?) It might be eczema? DS has it. Aveeno Baby for Eczema has cleared up most of it, and we just got a steroid cream from pedi for spot on cheek that is constantly wet due to drool/eating. But definitely get it confirmed by dr!

It doesn't get worse when it gets wet. It will randomly show up. I originally thought it was a heat rash on his back from sweating in his car seat but now it appeared on his front too.?
Was your baby recently sick, with a flu, fever or some sort of virus? We just found out that with babies who have a virus, a rash will accompany the sickness, even after other symptoms are long gone and the rash can start in one place and travel to another. Usually when it does travel, it will leave the prior place of breakout. It can last days, weeks, months. If this is it, it just has to run it course. Ours lasted a week and was on his little face. They said if it bothered him to give 1/2 teaspoon on benadyl. Hope it goes away soon.
DS has this, and was diagnosed with eczema. But, he doesn't scratch or seem to be bothered by it.
We did get a big tub of cream from the pedi to help with it, but she said as long as it isn't bothering him, just keep it moisturized and it's no big deal.

Same thing with us! Sometimes it's on his back all over, sometimes it's on chest and neck. He never itches.
We've been experimenting with other products to see what works best. Our pedi said to keep it moisturized, and when it flares up to use Cortaid on it.
