Maternity jeans

I'm trying so hard to hold out for warmer weather so I can just wear maxi dresses, but it seems like it's not coming anytime soon this year. Normally we've had several 60 degree days for the second half of March and early April.

I finally bought a pair of maternity jeans at a second hand store. They are fine, only cost me $5, but they are just so dumpy looking. Super light wash and huge flair leg. They just look blah, like I don't care. I bucked up and bought a nice dark wash pair from Target and they look a million times nicer, but they don't fit well. They are a smidge tight in the legs and too big in the belly. The size smaller fits in the belly, but is way to tight in the legs. I feel like I'm constantly pulling them up.

After all my blabbering, where did you find a nice pair of maternity jeans that didn't cost a fortune?

  • Motherhood's Secret Fit Belly Super Stretch jeans $34.98/pair.. I have three pairs of these jeans and they fit like a glove! I have larger thighs for my frame, so I typically have a hard time finding jeans that fit both my legs and waist and these jeans are awesome!

  • I really like Old Navy's. They don't look like maternity jeans except for the panel.

  • My favorite pair is the "Loved by Heidi Klum" straight legged pair from Motherhood. They aren't as tight as skinny jeans but still look super cute. I am absolutely going to wear them after the baby comes, because they are awesome.

  • Thanks everyone. I think maybe another trip to Motherhood is in order. I've been wearing these Target jeans at my desk with the tags on for about an hour and I just don't think they are cutting it.

I have a pair of lilac maternity jeans that I really like - the panel is much more comfortable than most. I got them on sale at babysteals so they were only around $40.

  • I haven't worn ON jeans since college but I LOVE my maternity jeans from there...they don't look dumpy and the color doesn't fade too badly (I hang them up to dry). Very comfortable and for $30 I bought 2 pairs of the full panel flare leg (they don't flare very much honestly).

  • My fave ones were Old Navy, but they were slim fit and my booty grew out of them last week. The only other pair I have (all hand me downs) are Motherhood are some super stretchy ones, and I hate them. Im wearing them right now, but I have to pull them up every 5 minutes. I, however, don't have any hips to speak of. I'm flat as a board on the sides, so maybe that's why I can't hold them up.

We don't have an ON with any good maternity selection here, so I'm going to Motherhood with DH this weekend to see if we can find me some that fit better.

  • Personally, I'm not a bit fan of the Old Navy ones. I'm a little tall so maybe that has something to do with it. They just didn't fit well and the material felt really cheap. I opted for a pair from the Gap. I LOVE them! I even have my non-pregnant friends asking if they're maternity because they're so cute. Regularly they're $70 but I got them for 40% off... BoNuS! I feel like if I'm only going to have one pair of jeans to last me 6 months then they better be worth it, and the Gap ones are worth it.
