I am browsing online b/c this is what we plan to get Charlotte for her birthday. I'm looking at this one and this one because I like the price, but do the play areas look a little small to you? They do get good reviews from users, but they just don't seem very spacious. My mom has this one which is a little more than I wanted to spend b/c we plan to get her a trike too, but the play area does look bigger and I know the girls love this one. I do know that I want one with a lid and these are the only tables that say they come with one. Also, any preference on just a water table vs. the sand/water table? It seems like with the water tables you get more water play area than you do with the combos, and obviously it would be cleaner too, although I don't care too much about that. I plan on checking them out at the store but wanted to get an idea of what others liked. Thanks!
ETA: We have a sand volleyball court in our neighborhood, so we often go up there to play in the sand anyway - if that makes a difference in what you would choose.
Re: Recommend your sand/water table
Oops! This is the one my mom actually has - posted the wrong link for hers above:

We actually scored ours off of craigslist for $20. It is this one: https://www.amazon.com/Step2-WaterWheel-Activity-Play-Table/dp/B000641DPQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1302143507&sr=8-1
I like that it is just water b/c I think sand + water = a big mess. She really likes it-even without water in right now LOL.
We have a very similar table. I just don't care for the sand and water tables, because sand and water don't mix. I saw a potential hot mess and made the decision that we would do a water table, and get an on the ground sandbox to contain the mess. We still need to buy said sandbox, and will this spring, but I think the two should be exclusive. It will save you lots of grief. Keep the sandbox on the ground, and let them play in the water on a table. You will be sane, and they will have lots of fun.
