Personal trainers

Has anyone used one before?

I used one before I got pregnant with Aubrey and I lost 22 lbs. in 3 months. I worked out 2 days/week for an hour each session.

I'm thinking of doing it again, but I want to find someone that understands that I've had 3 c-sections in the past 3.5 years, and so my core needs a lot of help (from the inside out).

I was hoping I could find some recommendations on here:)

Re: Personal trainers

  • I've never used one, but I plan to use Val after I have my baby in June: https://www.workoutwithval.com/

What I like about her is that she will come to you if you prefer!.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

  • I would suggest a Pilates studio if there is one near you.

I used one through the Y once b/c it was included in my membership.   Do you just want to improve your tummy area or does it hurt of feel weak ?  If so maybe a physical therapist would be a good bet.  I want to get back to the gym so I can strength train but my neck & back are a mess & I'm worried about hurting myself even more.  I just asked my doctor to give me a referral for PT so I can fix the pain before I go to the gym, or at least show me the exercises I should & should not do.

Yes   I love you!  And I totally agree.

Pilates is a wonderful idea, like pp mentioned.  If you go the pilates route, just be careful and talk to the instructor to be sure he/she understands about the c-sections so they can keep an eye on your technique.  And maybe try some one on one instructions first to be sure you are doing the moves correctly before jumping into a class.  I've also heard wonderful things about pole dancing classes for core ab strength.  Wink

  • I've been taking zumba (which is lots of fun!)... and was informed that apparently there is now chair dancing as well.
