Multi-grain cereal fail...what now?

My pedi doesn't want us to do rice cereal and neither do I really.  We just tried multi-grain cereal mixed in with pears the past two mornings and his face and diaper area broke out in a rash. 

What other grains can I try aside from rice cereal?
