I love Lorelei for a girl, but evidently it is a German name (DH is German) and Lorelei is some creature that lured sailors to their death, so he said no way because everyone in Germany (including all of his family) knows that fairytale and would associate her with that.  Bummer since I have loved that name since I heard it on Gilmore Girls.

OMG!!! This is totally the case for us too!!! I HATE that we can't use it because he is so opposed to that name for that same reason.

OMG I didn't know this at all and this is our top contender for a girl!!

I love the name Lorelai, which is the way it is spelled for the GG characters (would this make it less offensive to people from Germany?) and I actually knew the meaning of lorelei, but when I suggested it w/pg # before we knew we were having a boy, dh said it was too formal, like she should have really rich, stuffy parents (like Lorelai on GG). I'd still love to use it, but now that we have a Logan, it's a little too cheesy even for me, to have 2 kids with names from the same tv show! (yes, I'm a huge GG nerd, and that's how I came to love the name Logan too. And I think that Lorelai Gilmore is my long lost sister). Now the names we're liking for #2 are Riley (girl or boy), or rylan for boy, Tess for girl. And I think if we have a girl her mn will be Carolyn, after my grandma.

Our girl name is Anne Elizabeth, nicknamed Annie, in honor of my mom, who is Elizabeth Anne.

Our other boy name is probably Samuel John or Samuel James or John Samuel.

My stepmom's name is Elizabeth Anne and she goes by Anne. Smile
